“Loved Torrey Area & Cowboy Homestead Cabins”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2013

Just got back from a 10 day trip to see Utah's National Parks. We spent 2 nights at the Cowboy Homestead Cabins. The cabin was beautiful and very clean. It was so relaxing to sit on our porch in the evenings and look at the stars. The cabin had a King Bed, Couch and small kitchen area so we were able to make our breakfast in the morning. I thought 2 nights was the right amount of time to visit Capital Reef and the Torrey area. I would highly recommend Cowboy Homestead Cabins to anyone who is visiting the area.

My wife and I stayed here on April 15th, unfortunately for just one night. There are four cabins on the property which is very beautiful. Torrey is only a few minutes away by car and Capitol Reef NP is very close. I would recommend anybody stay here. The beds were large, cabins well equipped and spacious. Small kitchenette with microwave, plates and cutlery, sink, and all the necessities. Bathroom had tub/ shower combination and its own heater for cold nights.

The value compared with a small hotel room in town can't be beat. The hosts were very friendly.

These cabins are one of four small cabins on a property close to Torrey. The owners are friendly and the cabins are cute and very clean. The kitchenette included a coffee maker, microwave, a bar refrigerator plus some kitchenware. Plus there was a bbq and outdoor table for each cabin. Our only comment would be that the bed we had was hard and the curtains on the main window which our neighbors could walk passed were light and blew around everywhere when the heater was on. These are just minor comments as we had a great stay and the cabins are great value. We will definitely be visiting again.

Room Tip: Cabin 4 on the end would have more privacy.

Unfortunately, we were only able to stay here on a 9-day trip through Utah's national parks this late-March. We rented two cabins. First, the location. The ranch is probably 20 minutes from the visitors center at Capitol Reef NP, which is a truly amazing national park. The owners were very nice, as was their guard dog, bandit.. who is ready to guard the entry of your cabin, and the interior, if you are so willing. We missed the attack cat. The cabins are on a ranch, and you can take a look at the steer. Unlike another reviewer, we weren't expecting some fantastic excitement from a working ranch, but maybe that's because we come from farm country and realize it's not that dramatic. However, during the season, Bob said they practice roping cattle - rodeo style - several nights of week, so you'd have your own entertainment. The cabins themselves are simple and great for value. In the cabin with a king, we had a couch. They both had a small kitchen sink, microwave, and fridge. When you consider the value for money, the cabins were excellent. There is good morning coffee available up the road 3 miles at the hwy junction.

We were so looking forward to our 3-night stay in the Cowboy Homestead Cabins, I think we were anticipating perhaps seeingt something of ranch life but, apart from 2 disinterested dogs, life on the ranch seemed incredibly dead. The cabin itself was very nice, very clean and cosy with all you could want for a short stay and perhaps it was our fault that we thought a stay on a working ranch might perhaps include the sight of a least 1 cow (we have hundreds in the UK on view!) might have livened up the place. We had also hoped perhaps for some horseriding, but again, nothing, it was totally desolate! no nothing. Thank goodness for Diego's restaurant in Torrey, even Torry itself was more fun that the Cabins!, and at $80 a night, it was not really very good value, the Torrey Cabins only charged $33 and they had a swimming pool and WiFi! Would not recommend the Cowboy Cabins to other travellers.

Room Tip: Try Torry first - lots of accommodation at 1/4 of the price.

We stayed one night in cabin number 1. The owners were very friendly. The scenery is beautiful, and the cabin very cosy and clean. The small kitchenette had everything we needed to make our evening meal. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had a delightful early November overnight here. Each cabin is beautifully equipped, and we found nothing was omitted. The quiet is profound save for the occasional cattle calling out in the night. Calves had just been weaned the night we were there. Don and Shirley are wonderful hosts.
