Nice basic room with frig and flat screen TV, free coffee in the really cute adjacent country store. Good place to restock on veggies and junk food. Cabins look nice too.
The deli also packed us a nice box lunch for a great day in Capitol Reef National Park.
Great upscale Southwestern restaurant right down the street .....Cafe Diablo.

Room Tip: We were in the "new" rooms, but cabins looked nice for families. Old rooms are very inexp...

This was a very nice, clean motel. We had spent the day at Capitol Reef National Park and were ready to just relax. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Not a big room, but certainly adequate. We were very happy with our choice.

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was nice and helpful. We stayed in one of the motel rooms, just down from the office. The rooms aren't large but are more than adequate. We are a family of 4 adults - me, my husband, sister and mother. The motel includes a nice breakfast and have a general store and washer and dryer right on the property. We still had clothes in the dryer when they came to close up at night and they said just turn off the light and lock the door when we leave---so nice! There's a couple of picnic tables that we made use of since we got a little tired of restaurants on our trip.

After the long drive from Zion to Bryce (for a several hour visit) then continuing along the magnificent Utah Route 12 across the Escalante, we were very ready to call it a day at Torrey. The town, along with Capitol Reef N.P., are pretty obscure. We had not made pre-arrangements, so simply drove into the tiny town of Torrey. Some of the lodging places looked not too inviting. Then we happened upon Austin's Chuckwagon Lodge. The curb appeal is immediate, as you can tell the grounds are immaculate, the flowers abundant, the lights all work, and the store in front similarly inviting and neat. Were tired of driving, and delighted when we got a room and stepped inside. This is a great little find. Squeaky clean and comfortable, we had a great one night stay. We try to avoid chains and discover the local gems whenever possible. The Chuckwagon was one such find, and we highly recommend it.

Beautiful location and setting. For whatever reason I was only offered a room over the store when I made a reservation. Thin walls, thin curtains, thin towels, thin value. I would have gladly paid more to
stay in newer rooms out back. You could hear everything in adjacent rooms, tv, bathroom use etc.
Thankfully the people staying adjacent to me were polite and reasonable and slept normal hours.
Poorly arranged exterior lighting and cheap window blinds means this room is not dark at night.
Interior window blind facing hallway provides only limited privacy.

Room Tip: Beware of rooms over store.

We stayed in one of three 2 bedroom cabins October 27 ,2012. Super clean, quiet, plenty of towels and very comfortable beds. High end toiletries were great. Just a few steps from the General Store where we had a super breakfast. Biscuits and gravy were a big hit with the guys. If you are looking for a great value and tons of western flare, then this cute hotel is where you want to be.

Room Tip: The Torrey Trading post is just across the street and is full of fun things to browse upon.

We were a bit apprehensive when we booked a night at this facility but we were pleasantly surprised with it. Nice, large room...very clean and comfortable bed. Outdoor pool was heated and still operating in early October and the outdoor hot tub was very relaxing. Have no hesitation recommending this facility.
