“Loved this place!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 21, 2013

I could have stayed in this place for a week or longer (If I had the time). The room was VERY big and spacious (I had one of the suites over in the 400 building) It had most everything you could ask for. Micro, fridge, coffee pot, etc. room was sort of split up by a low wall with a nice couch on one side and the bed on the other. It was like a small apartment. I was there during Oct so not big crowds around and GREAT deals on a room. The people at the desk were friendly. Didn't eat at the restaurant on site so no review on that. Hotel is right at entrance to park. Loved this place!

Room Tip: ask about the mini suites (one bed)

Standard Best Western in motel format. Rooms with uninterrupted views of Capital Reef massif. Probably best of three motels near Capital Reef National Park entrance – otherwise in the ”back of beyond”. Excellent restaurant at Rim Rock Hotel 100 yards up the road – recommend you eat there in the evening. Breakfast served in the Best Western was average.

Room Tip: Views from lower level rooms is amazing - the peace and quiet!

Beautiful location on the edge of Capital Reef. We had our Australian Shepard with us and the pet friendly room was clean, had a good smell and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's not fancy, but perfect for what we needed. We would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: book early if you need a pet friendly room

This hotel is situated a few miles from Capitol Reef National park and, frankly, I can't imagine any other reason to stay here.

It's built in typical motel style and our room was at the back of a long block of ground floor rooms but actually turned out to be one floor lower given the way the hotel is built.

As a result it was rather dark but in ok condition. The wifi was non-existent in the room but worked in the lobby area.

There is a guest laundry room that we took advantage of and the iron and board in the room was ideal too.

The restaurant looked ok but not very appealing so we reserved a table across the road at the Rimrock which was excellent. The food was really nice and the views from the dining room were great.

The receptionist when we checked in was a young lady and she was very helpful. The same wasn't true of the lady who followed on, the owner I think, who was distinctly less enthusiastic.

Overall it was ok as a one night base to explore the national park and drive Highway 10 which was very scenic. We're I to return here, I think I'd explore the options down the road in Torrey itself. Just behind the general store there was a characterful little hotel. I didn't have the time to take a closer look but it certainly looked much more appealing.

The view of the hotel from the road may not inspire confidence but the room was in great shape. It obviously had been redone recently and was very clean. Its an older building that is being well maintained. We had a great sleep. The bathroom is a bit small as compared to newer hotels but thing worked well.

Breakfast does not come with the room but we paid an extra $7 at checkin and got two hot made to order breakfasts in the adjacent restaurant.

We only stayed here one night, I only wish we'd stayed longer (because we particularly liked the little town of Torrey). The room was large and comfortable and the hotel was in a good location for Capitol Reef National Park. What more can you ask for?

Pre reserved this hotel 6 months in advance, 2 queen suite , mountain view with private balcony with fridge and microwave. Upon arrival I was given a key to an interior room with shared balcony, view of the parking lot no fridge, no microwave, that room was truly unimpressive. The clerk quickly changed our location and this room was so much better, much larger with the amenities expected. The room was nice, beds just great, very clean. nice view from the balcony which I was looking forward too and did enjoy, lots of chanels to choose from on the tv. We ate at a Mexican next door so cannot comment on the onsite restaurant. I agree with other reviewers, a light continental breakfast would be wonderful falling within what other Best Westerns offer. This hotel is right at the entrance of scenic Capitol Reef, do take the scenic drive to the right by the visitors center. I would recommend and would stay again but a better rate was available as a walk in than it was to have booked months in advance.

Room Tip: there are many different types of rooms here. be clear what you are booking.
