Booked 1 king large room 408 with beautiful mountain view for 2 nights at $132 per night including tax and no breakfast. Room 408 is in a newer modern building. Very comfortable bed and bedding. Location is very good; close to Capitol Reef NP and Torry. We did not eat at their restaurant due to poor review. Because we had to wipe down the dirty furniture (wardrob closet floor & night stand bottom), they only got a 3 instead of 4 rating from us.

Wow ! This was a very unexpected acco in this part of the world.. we spent one night in the room. The place was great. Great beds, linen, bathroom was also perfect & good quality tolieteries.. A great view from the room. Suggested room to pick is the one which is behind as the view is awesome.

Room Tip: Pick up rooms which are behind the main entrance.. I liked the view from there..

The Best Western Capitol Reef Resort represents excellent accommodations for the money. The hotel facility is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are modern and well appointed, lacking only a mini refridgerator & microwave. Hotel staff are both professional and friendly. On site restaurant facilities are convient with reasonably good food.

The hotel is centrally located between Torrey and Capital Reef National Park and is an excellent place from which to explore to wonders of the Capitol Reef area. For the most comfort, ask for a ground floor room on the back side of the hotel. These rooms are much, much cooler than upper floor rooms (very nice after a hot day hiking/exploring without the need for air conditioning) and have a great view of the rocky hills.

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room on the back side of the hotel: much cooler in the summer heat.

Don't let the outside scare you. The rooms here are very, very, nice. New everything. Nice view out back window. The only downside was no cell service. A dead zone!

We spent 1 night in room 407. The view from our room was excellent. The room was large, and clean. We ate dinner in their restaurant, and even though it had a liquor permit sticker, they had not gotten their permit yet, so my husband was a bit disappointed. The food was great. Check in was fast, and the staff was very helpful. The hot tub was nice after a long day. We would stay there again if in the area.

What they have achieved at this hotel is a clever and sympathetic blend of modern comfort and convenience that does not conflict with some outstanding natural scenery. As it is outside the very small town of Torrey, it is well situated for a visit to the Capitol Reef Park, the petroglyphs and storage bins and early Mormon structures. It is also a good place to stop before enjoying the Boulder Mountain Scenic Drive down to Escalante. Apparently the hotel began as a traditional motel many years ago and has been added to and developed over the years so the rooms do vary. Our room was clean and spacious with an additional lounge and views of the mountains. It was a bonus to be able to park outside our room. The laundry facilities were first class but understandably, in March, the ice machine was still under winter wraps.
The staff (who I think were mainly the owners) were friendly without any pretence of being 'Receptionists'. Unfortunately there was a strong smell of tobacco smoke in reception.
As to the restaurant, we were able to talk to the manager who provided me with an excellent gluten-free meal but unfortunately my wife's meal was not what she had ordered. This was quickly put right. The service at breakfast, where you can order off the menu, was poor and slow.

Room Tip: All seem to be good rooms with views towards the mountains but, as ever, it is best to ask to see th...

We stayed for two nights at the Capitol Reef Best Western. We made reservations the same day of check-in with no issues. The hotel is clean and has an attached restaurant - the kind with large block letters on the outside that read "RESTAURANT." You definitely feel like you are stepping back in time to the Griswald vacation, but it works.

The room was comfortable and clean. The private patio is carpeted and faces a lovely rock formation. There is a nice laundry facility with 2 washers and 4 dryers, plus a restroom which is a nice bonus if you have to hang with the laundry for awhile.

We ate at the restaurant twice for breakfast. The first visit was awesome - attentive server, always at the ready with coffee, gave the kids a mountain of whipped cream on ther hot chocolates. The second morning, the service was s-l-o-w, had to beg for more coffee, and the servers were more interested in gossiping in the kitchen than waiting on the ONE table with customers (us). There is a restaurant/hotel across the street, the Rim Rock and it had a great dinner wth a gorgeous view. The prices were high but we gladly paid for the convenience and the fact that no designated driver would be required!

Overall a good stay and we would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with the balcaony/patio. There are some rooms in the main building but they only over...
