Owner description: The Guaranteed Dolphin Watch is our most popular tour from June to October. This two hour cruise is ideal for all ages. You will hear a factual narration on the Bottlenose Dolphin. Dolphin mating and birthing observed on many cruises. See the most respected aquatic mammal in it's natural habitat. Breathtaking views are all around you on this tour. Our large viewing areas offer everyone a good spot. Each vessel is covered for sun protection with a restroom on board and Coast Guard inspected. Our crews are usually native to the Outer Banks. They love to answer questions and show off the local area to all of our visitors. We believe you'll have the time of your life and it will be the most memorable afternoon of your trip to the Outer Banks.

We were in the Outer Banks and wanted to go on a dolphin tour. We were intrigued by Captain Johnny's "guarantee" (if you don't see dolphins on your trip, you can ride again for free). It was late in the season -- early October -- and the Captain told us that they hadn't seen any dolphin on their previous tour. But we weren't out in the sound for 15 minutes before we saw several dolphins jumping around near our boat. We traveled further down the sound and saw several more -- these looked like they were having fun coming up on various sides of the boat -- much to the delight of everyone on board.

On the trip back to port, we got to see a spectacular sunset -- typical of the Outer Banks.

I would HIGHLY recommend this adventure for families and anyone who wants to see these amazing creatures! The operation was very well run, Captain Stewart was very funny and informative.

My husband and I took this tour with his daughter, her husband and our 10 year old grandson. The captain was entertaining and very informative about not only the dolphins, but birds, fish and the area in general. We saw LOTS of dolphins! Jumping, swimming, frolicking. It was AWESOME!! We also did the sunset and it was so beautiful. Truly breathtaking. I would highly recommend this to everyone! It is well worth the money, no doubt about it.

We had a blast this evening, having chosen the sunset dolphin tour. It didn't take long to find the dolphins, making eveyone excited. We stayed with group of about 8 for about 45 minutes. (I wasn't watching th clock.) Then the sunset which was looking like it'd be a good one. We went a little north, so that the sun was setting right on the horizon. There were some clouds in the sky which just added to the spectacle. The afterglow showed hues you just won't see anywhere else. It was one of the most beautiful sites these eyes have ever seen.

The crew was great: friendly and knowledgable. We'll definitly be doing this one again!!!

My husband and I have been out with Captain Stuart three times in the last three years. Each time we saw dolphins and had a relaxing and fun two hours on the water. Our latest excursion was last week (late September, 2012). We took the 10:00 AM trip (there's also a 1:00 and a sunset cruise), and we were one of only two couples on the boat. It was a totally amazing experience. We found the dolphins after about 20 minutes, and we stayed with them for over an hour. There were probably 60 of them, all swimming and jumping and performing for our enjoyment (OK, I'm sure they weren't performing for us, but they did seem to like swimming around our boat). I've never seen dolphins so close to the boat before -- we could even see them under the water, swimming in groups of two, three, or four, and then leaping up right in front of us. Some of them were clearly playing -- they would roll over on their backs and jump over each other. I loved hearing them slap their tails on the water. There were a few very young dolphins (I won't say "babies," but they were definitely small), which were swimming with their mothers. You couldn't ask for a better dolphin adventure.

We've been on a number of the OBX dolphin cruises, and this one is definitely the best. Some have complained that it's hard to find -- just park down at the Manteo waterfront and walk out to the docks. The Captain Johnny boat is docked just down from Poor Richard's Sandwich Shop.

Great dolphin trip, great price -- you can't go wrong with this one.

This is the second time that we did the Dolphin Cruise with Captain Stuart. Once in 2008 and again this year, 2012. Eventhough the weather was a bit inclement and all of the other families cancelled, Captain Stuart took us out and what a show. We saw dolphin as soon as we pulled away from the dock! We followed them all the way out under the bridge. The dolphin were very playful and jumping and doing summersaults. It was amazing to see wild dolphin 'performing' like that. Captain Stuart seemed as excited as we were. Dolphins aside, we were just happy to be on the water out on the sound. The dolphins were an added benefit. We would recommed this tour and would definitely do it again.
