“Very good pastries”
Reviewed September 22, 2012 via mobile

Had breakfast there yesterday, maybe at the same time as "overpriced.". For newbies, they do full breakfasts even though we didn't see them on the board behind the pastry counter, but all we wanted was coffee and pastries anyway. Quaint little place, reasonable prices for the Cape, lots of locals there. Not a super place - no view, no table cloths, one waitress for the whole place and not the most attentive service, open wastebaskets for paper plates, etc but OK for what it is.

“Overpriced”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Just had breakfast at Flying Fish Cafe, and while the food was good, it seemed that the owners were trying to save money at the expense of their clientele. We each had pancakes and coffee, while I added a side of bacon and a small glass of Orange juice. Total was over $30, which seems a bit more than necessary. The first sign of this came with the coffee, which was served with milk, not cream, and a paltry amount of milk at that. When the pancakes arrived, they were accompanied by a single pat of Land 'o Lakes butter and "real maple syrup" in a small plastic tub. For the prices paid, we should have had a pitcher of cream on the table, at least two or three pats of butter and a big pitcher of the syrup as well. Overall the impression was that the owners were trying to save a buck anyway they could at the expense of diners. Not worth that kind of money for the skimpy servings.

“A little gem :)”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Because it wasn't quite sunny enough for the beach we decided to grab a bite and let the clouds pass. We had eaten here for breakfast in the past so we decided to see what they had for lunch.

We both got fresh salads with grilled chicken on top and they were yummy! We had a iced vanilla latte and and iced tea. Oh, and John got a to die for whoopie-pie...and I had a bite!

This place is no frills, grab a seat and a number and enjoy outside or in. Great service with the gals who deliver your meals and I believe that they stay open late if not year round for breakfast on the weekends so we will be back!

“Good food in a comfortable setting”
Reviewed September 11, 2012

Food was excellent and menu had interesting items such as shrimp puttanesca and Portuguese clams. My choice was salmon with pesto. Service was cheerful but a bit ragged -- penne came with no sauce, no grated cheese -- nothing. It simply sat there plain as day until we could catch our server's attention. And then -- the marinara sauce was richly textured with plenty (but not too much) of zing. Blueberry cobbler did not disappoint.

“Excellent coffee”

Fresh pastries baked daily and open at 7. Free wifi on the patio.
The Morning Glory muffins and Chocolate Crossiants were perfect every day. Sumatra coffee was delicious!
