We went with one other couple who likes to share; so we got to sample quite a bit from the menu. A nice selection of cocktails started the evening. The atmosphere was comfortable but tight where we were seated. The outside seating looked like the way to go but it was a little chilly for our evening. Great appetizers and small plates for starters: drunken oysters were a big hit and the tuna tartar was a close second. The lobster bisque was a bit thin and not a lot of lobster but tasty. We had one good salad dish and one so-so. The service was a bit slow but it ended up being a good pace for a very relaxed evening. We were able to have uninterrupted conversation in the fairly quiet room. We all decided on fish entrees: 2 - Monkfish, 1 - stuffed sole and a Halibut special. The halibut was by far the best fish of the night, the squid ink risotto with the monkfish was awesome and the stuffed sole was a little better than average. The only real disappointment of the night was the wine selection. We all happen to be red wine lovers no matter what the entrée. Only four reds to pick from: one merlot, one pinor nior, one cab and one zin. The overall price was a little high for what we got but in line with others in the area. I'd try it again. I think they'll work through some things and make some improvements.

This place has a new name and may be a new chief, so my wife and I with another couple gave it a try.

We started with Lobster bisque and beet salid which were unremarkable. However we did love the tuna tartar and the drunken oysters.

I had the Monkfish with squid ink risotto and calimari. It was outstanding.

The sole was flavorful but a bit dry.

The service was good but not exceptional. The tables were a bit small for four and the wine list almost nonexistant.

I don't think they lived up to their potential tonight.

The Fleetian is well situated at a major intersection in Wellfleet with an outdoor setting that is just right for drinks and dinner. A recently installed small raw bar adds to the available selections for food.. A modest menu with some interesting appetizers and entrees. Try the drunken oysters for a starter or extend it for a full meal. The seafood is nicely done with some interesting sauces. Surf and turf tonight included shrimp and flank steak with a side of home fries and a small green salad -- very tasty! Limited wine and beer menu. The crowd comes to sit outside and enjoy the breezes off harbor and an occasional musical group. However, it is understaffed both in the dining area and the kitchen so the wait for everything is tedious. Also, an army of ants seemed to find it way throughout the outdoor venue. Enthusiastic wait staff, but overworked. This new option for Wellfleet dining has some work ahead to be top notch.

The food is incredible. We had the oysters for appetizer. I had the lamb special. Our waitress was very attentive and very passionate about the food. Drinks were amazing! Great dinner, highly recommended.
