Have been coming here for years and years, it is always a special spot in both summer and winter, to enjoy some really great seafood, fresh from the sea right across the street. Can't beat the view of the harbor either. Surprisingly creative cocktail menu, and great beer list. Great friendly service too. Grab a seat outside if you can during the warmer months, but the past few visits have been off season and dining indoors is comfortable and cozy. Sat at a bar top by the window this past weekend and watched the snow fall over a few cocktails and dinner and it was lovely.

Note for winter travelers, the restaurant closes down for the holidays and reopens in January so make sure to check the website or call beforehand.

This restaurant was recommended from the owner of the hotel we were staying at. It is on the water and has outside seating which is a positive. The meal my wife and I enjoyed was very good and our server was pleasant and efficient. I had one of the featured items the fresh haddock and it was great. Nice size portion that was bright white and flaky. This is a favorite watering hole for the locals as the season winds down.

Joann and I usually try to find a way to visit the Cape in the fall of the year. We are particularly fond of the area around Wellfleet and Truro. We always stop into this most unusual and interesting bookstore and fantastic restaurant. The bookstore is deserving of a separate review, so suffice it to say here that if you are a reader and enjoy specific or eclectic subject matter, this treasury of used books is spectacular -- it will truly feed your mind. The restaurant, in my opinion, offers the best seafood in the area. The soups and chowders are superb, the oysters are to die for (whether raw, baked or fried) and the lobster rolls (cold or hot) are wonderful. We are usually there mid-day, so we can only speak of the lunch offering, but if lunch is this special, we intend to make sure that we visit for dinner next trip. For a special luncheon treat, feed your soul with the New Orleans style fried oyster po-boy! The oysters (Wellfleet's own) are gently fried, for succulent and sweet perfection. But have it early(the restaurant opens for lunch at 11:30 am) if you plan to have enough room for dinner later in the day, or you can walk it off by hiking the beach right out front of the restaurant or ride further down the road and park on the left in the lot just past where the Herring River runs into Wellfleet harbor. You will find the Great Island Hiking Trail that takes you down along the salt marsh and out across the spectacular dunes to a fantastic beach with a nice view of the tower in P-town out in the distance. What more could you want from an autumn day on beautiful (and deserted) Cape Cod.
