“great local seafood”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

We were driving back from the whale watching at P-Town on Cape Cod and got hungry. We asked some locals where we could get some of the famous local oysters called "wellfleets". They directed us to Mac's Shack and we were not disappointed at all. We dined on a dozen freshly shucked oysters, oyster chowder ( made to order!!!), and fried oysters on a salad. All were excellent, though a bit pricey. An excellent meal and great friendly service.

“Warm Oysters served - poor presentation of food and mediocre dishes”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

We ordered the oysters and my husband commented that they were warm and didn't taste fresh. They were not on ice and 24 oysters were poorly presented and some were stacked on each other. One of our friends got extremely sick within 1 hour. I don't know if it is possible to get shellfish poisoning that quickly but he swore it was the oysters and was vomiting profusely for the next few hours. No one else got sick. The staff told him that he must be allergic but he said he eats shellfish all the time. The food was mediocre. The outside bar looks cute but sitting outside is really uncomfortable and is right next to the big parking area. They may have another restaurant on the beach that may be better. The restaurant definitely had some business and the server was sweet too. I would never go back there.

“Oh, the Razor Clams !”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Just before arriving at the Pier we stopped here for fresh oysters, but the razor clams had just gotten in and we had those instead. Just slightly cooked in a light mixture of wine, herbs and butter, the clams were delicious. We had to go back the next day for the plump, sweet oysters and the sushi rolls. The day before we had the tuna belly and the yellow finn tuna that were superb.
In general, Massacussetts is were you get the freshest tuna ( Gloucester, try your hand at fishing one of these monsterrs ).
Oh the pair of sushi chefs that work here are unbelievably proffessional.

“Best restaurant for miles around”
Reviewed July 12, 2014 via mobile

This is a surprisingly good and interesting restaurant tucked away in Wellfleet. A great break from typical summer beach food. The menu is creative and offers lots if interesting choices. A great sushi menu, but also so much more. Only problem is the loooong wait to get in most nights. Try should start taking reservations. I would go more often if they did. But there's a nice bar with a fun drunk menu while you wait.

“Confortable and Friendly”
Reviewed July 10, 2014

Fun spot, good food, and attentive service - they hit the basics. The menu has good variety. I had the flounder sandwich tasty all around. The thing that is really special here is the great cocktails. Sitting at the bar watched the bartender mix up all kinds of tasty concoctions with fresh fruit and herbs.
