“good time, beware parking spots...”

cost is $8.50 per person over 12 years. we were told to park at the yellow posts which puts the car too far away to see the screen well. there were many rows of white posts in front of the screen with open spaces so after the movie started, i moved up much closer. no one told us to move back to the yellow. the intermission cartoons are from 1959. love this! typical snacks and bathroom facilities. double feature!

“Very little things are as wonderful as a drive-in on a summer vacation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

We love drive-ins. We love summer. We love vacations. Put them together, and we are in heaven. We had a very enjoyable evening for a very reasonable price at the Wellfleet drive in. We got there fairly early (to see the new Harry Potter movie right after it opened), got our good position, and then went to play mini-golf at the connected facility while we were waiting for the show to start. A highly recommended family activity. We would have stayed for the 2nd feature, but after a full day at the amazing Cape Cod beaches, we were too tired. When we come back to vacation on the Cape again, the Drive-in will continue to be at the top of the to-do list.

“Time travel on the Cape!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

For many the drive-in is something seen in movies but not real life. At the Wellfleet drive-in you get to experience what it was like to go to the movies in the fifties ... Complete with 50's intermission. There are two movies each night during the summer you can find out what's showing online. Many families take their kids (the is a small playground to keep the younguns entertained while waiting). Bring lawn chairs if you want to sit under the stars and watch the movies (if you do, also bring a blanket to keep off the dew and a portable radio to tune into the FM broadcast for better quality sound). If you plan on watching from the comfort of your car don't forget window cleaner. It's worth arriving early if you have and SUV or want a spot near the front. SUVs are restricted to spots with yellow poles due to their height. No grilling allowed. Don't forget bug spray! There are 50s style window speakers if you want the full vintage experience.

“So much fun for all ages!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2011

This is something you have to experience when staying on the Cape! During the day, there's a fantastic flea market with all sorts of goods ranging from antiques to clothing, jewelry, toys. It's $3 admission per car.

At night, it's an authentic drive-in movie theatre that takes you on a time warp back to the 1950's. You tune your radio to a certain station to hear the audio for the movie that's playing right in front of you. It's so surreal! Some kids sit on top of their cars, some sit outside on beach chairs, but most sit in their cars. There are two shows each night, one at ~8 and one at ~10... and they tend to play movies that are rated G or PG. I hesitated going last time because the movie was not one I was interested in seeing at ALL, but ended up going at the last minute, and it turned out to be such a great experience even though the movie itself wasn't very interesting!

Highly recommended.
