“A must-see, but plan well”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 19, 2013

Cahoon Hollow Beach and the Beachcomber are a part of the fiber that is Wellfleet. That being said, if you're heading out to Wellfleet, you have to go at least once. The food is very casual and the atmosphere laid back. During high season, there are lots of nights of live music that's worth checking out, too.

But, the parking lot is too small, so plan your day trip carefully. I recommend making a day of it and arriving at the lot by 10 if possible. On most days, there are cars of people waiting to get in to this parking lot. As one of the few beaches you can go to without a beach sticker and the only one with a restaurant (and a restaurant that will validate your parking to make it free!), it fills quickly.

“Awesome view and delicious fish tacos!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

My husband, teenage daughter and son and I went here while staying in Wellfleet for a week in July 2012. We were in the right frame of mind...had been sightseeing all day, and were ready for some fun and family time. While waiting for a table, we were able to hang and people-watch, listen to some music, watch the sun go down, and experience this gem before finally getting seated. The atmosphere inside does not compare, but the food did not disappoint. My son and I both ordered the fish tacos...they were fabulous!!! The price was $23.98 for two fish taco dinners. The fish was light and flaky and flavorful, and the accompaniments in the taco were soooo good. Am craving right now as I write this! Hubby ordered a burger which he liked, daughter gigot the garlic necks and enjoyed those too. When we next visit the Wellfleet area we will be sure to go back!

“The 'Comber Rocks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2013

Whether you are with family or friends, youing or old, the Beachcomer, or for those with 20 seasons or more, The 'Coma (put on your Bostom accent, drop the R, and yopu've got it), The Coma rocks.

Overlooking the beach, nestled atop the dunes, the perceived negatives are exactly why its the best place on the real Cape. You have to manage the dunes up and down, but once you are there, its worth the trip. The beach goes for miles and miles and miles and miles (k, I got a little inventive from the Who), but its so true.

The restaurant itself, is the Cape experience. What they do with steamed clams is magic, its hard to stop with one order. The drinks are dead on, ice cold, and the service in this touristy area is anything but. The folks there have been around for years, are seasoned professionals, and make sure you have what you need and enjoy it.

I debated writing this review because the Comber gets busier every year, and having been there since it was a shack for the locals, I didn;t want to draw any more attention to it for selfish reasons, but they deserve a big hand, a positive review, and everone should get to enjoy before mother nature redraws the dunes on the Cape.

Summer music for the young folks! Lunch for all! This place has withstood the weather and crazy summers mobs forever. Just dusts itself off and gives us yet another entertaining summer!
