Description: Closed for the winter. See you May 2017 When we first opened Moby Dick’s in ‘83, we had no idea we’d become an establishment on Cape Cod. We simply wanted to start a BYOB restaurant that had fresh seafood, a relaxed environment, and a friendly staff that would make people feel at home. Well, three decades later, we’re still doing exactly that, opening every season in May to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Some people stop in for our lobster rolls while others come for an old-fashioned bucket of steamers. But everyone knows they can come to us for fresh family fun and a dining experience in Wellfleet they'll never forget.

Moby Dick's is on route 6 in Wellfleet. It's a huge restaurant and gift shop. It was a good time and everyone enjoyed their lunch. Would definitely eat there again.

“One of the best New England Seafood places!”
Reviewed August 23, 2014

I love summer time! I head over to woodman's in Essex to pick my own lobster or i'll drive to Ipswich to get fried clams that are to die for at the Clam Box. I know what is great, average and poor seafood when it comes to road side new England shacks.

This place is up there with the best of the best! Fried scallops and fries are amazing. Exactly how you want them. Yes there is often a line outside to get in, but it moves fast. Service is always top notch here. (Anna from Iceland was superb last night getting people in and out of line, making things entertaining and efficient). The calamari was not perfect, but that's not local either so it's hard to compare all the other amazing times. I always stop here on my way home from a weekend on the outer cape.

Do yourself a favor and head here!

“There she blows!”
Reviewed August 23, 2014 via mobile

This place is run like a well oiled machine, the owner is very hands on. You order at the counter an servers bring your food shortly after to your table. Food was okay, as we had fish tacos and my son had a burger. Good service, I would go back again.

“Fantastic!”
Reviewed August 22, 2014 via mobile

We tried this place for something new, since we had been to the other big name on the cape several times. The staff was friendly and helpful, the owner came out and chatted and actually gave us a free basket of while belly clams which was both generous and delicious. So tender and sweet! We found the food fresh and the environment pleasant, even though it was of course very busy. But it didn't feel crowded despite the numbers. We'll definitely be back!

“Let the line out the door be your guide!”
Reviewed August 22, 2014

AT the risk of making the line out the door longer - we have to say that this restaurant is likely the best on the Cape. It combines fresh, deliciously prepared seafood with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The owners have created a brilliant system such that you get on line, get a menu, order once inside and then sit down. The food begins to come as ordered (i.e., appetizer, entree) shortly after being seated. You don't get rushed out so even though you are served promptly - the dining is then leisurely. Dessert gets ordered at the table - and is worth getting.
It is also BYOB and prices for the food are very reasonable. Our group ordered salads (very large and able to be split between two people), steamed mussels (the plumpest we've ever had), fried oysters (also plump), lobsters, swordfish and bass. The fish were thick cuts and grilled to perfection. The wait staff are very friendly and the owner walks around to make sure guests are happy. Highly recommended (again at the risk of making the line out the door longer).
