Description: Closed for the winter. See you May 2017 When we first opened Moby Dick’s in ‘83, we had no idea we’d become an establishment on Cape Cod. We simply wanted to start a BYOB restaurant that had fresh seafood, a relaxed environment, and a friendly staff that would make people feel at home. Well, three decades later, we’re still doing exactly that, opening every season in May to the delight of locals and visitors alike. Some people stop in for our lobster rolls while others come for an old-fashioned bucket of steamers. But everyone knows they can come to us for fresh family fun and a dining experience in Wellfleet they'll never forget.

Our family enjoyed lunch at Moby Dick's. Kids menu had lots of options and seafood was delicious. We enjoyed bringing our own wine along

“Efficient and quick food however service patchy. BYO drink establishment.”
Reviewed July 24, 2014

First the good points. The seafood was hard to fault. The crab cakes were packed with meat and the fries were real potatoes cut thin. (Not frozen as best I could tell)
The food order was taken and in no time our appetizers arrived. The Lobster bisque was a little too creamy for my liking but not bad. I'd pass if I am back. The main courses also came quickly.
All the staff were friendly and efficient. However after our initial order arrived I think the wait staff changed out or something because we felt very neglected when it came to refills on our soft drinks. It's inexplicable as up until this point service was excellent.

I'd go go back down to Wellfleet on occasion to eat here but there are good seafood joints all over the Cape so can't see us making the 40 minute drive.

“Great Food but Loooong Lines BYOB”
Reviewed July 23, 2014 via mobile

Went Tues. night at 7:30 and had 45 minute wait. Still a good size wait at 8:45 when we left. Raw oysters were some of the best any of us has ever had. Nothing fancy (get your own water) but excellent coastal food. Fried clams, lobster roll, blackened swordfish, fried oysters all great. Very reasonable prices.

“Fresh seafood”
Reviewed July 22, 2014 via mobile

This is a family place. When we went there was just a short wait to be seated. You order, pay then get seated and wait for your meal. We ate there our first day in Wellfleet. There was something for everyone. The seafood was very good. We would go there again.

“Good Food, functionality could be better”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

We drove from Harwich to this restaurant, (about a half hour) as the reviews were amazing. The food is no doubt, very good and they have a few more options than our Cape Cod favourites, (different types of burgers rather than just 1, crab cake sandwiches, etc.) Prices are a tad high, i.e.: $10 burgers with fries, but not outrageously so. Service was ok upon entering but there is no way to get drink refills without grabbing the nearest porter.....so you have to "fish one out" of the crowd and ask for refills......we had a large table and they brought back our cups all filled and had no idea who's cup belonged to whom.....literally every time. There should just be a soda fountain like every other restaurant has......it would avoid a ton of problems, including folk roaming the aisles looking for porters. Other than that, yes....the food is good, service is good, just could be executed more functionally.

Orlandogal307, Thank you for your comments. We do have a soda fountain but will work to do a better job with drink re-fills. We hear you loud and clear. Thank you!
