“One of my favorite inns”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

This very pretty inn on a salt creek (with ducks) has a main house and an out-building. I stayed here for several nights both last summer and this. It has to be the most economical inn in its class. The rooms I stayed in were pristine, the beds firm (I have a bad back), the inn-owners, Bob and Judy, warm and friendly, as was Marge, who co-manages. Anything I asked for, I got, even though I arrived in the midst of a torrential rainstorm and was pretty grouchy at first. The tavern has a nice wine list, moderately-priced menu (the mussels hors d'oeuvre is outstanding), and a homey, relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.

Room Tip: Book early.

Our last trip to the Duck Creek Tavern was delicious, friendly, cozy and fun. Not only did we have great dishes, wine and service but Judy, the owner, treated us like family.

Stayed for 3 days and found everything pretty good. The room was very clean, had good lighting, a/c and 2 fans. Great location to walk into town. B & B is located across from a beautiful marsh and close to beaches. All things considered a good stay. A side note.....if you want a fancy b& b with a gourmet breakfast I am sure you can find one for 3 or 4 hundred dollars. If you want a nice stay for half that try this b&b.

We recently spent 4 nights at this wonderful B&B. The location was perfect, the rooms were spotless and the staff was very helpful. We cannot wait to book our stay for next Summer!

This feels like a place resting on its laurels, employing staff on the cheap who therefore care little for service. The rooms are small and the walls are board-thin. Second floor rooms have fans, which are ineffectual in the summer. Especially dismal are the bathrooms - tiny, unventilated, appalingly lit and damp. The breakfast was minimal, served from plastic cups and poor - reflecting every aspect of the joint. We sensed that the owner is more interested in the attached restaurant than the lodgings. High spot was the two lovely cleaners.

I travel in the B and B and Inn circle when on vacation and thought this Inn was OK. They were very friendly (went out their way to give us things like hairdryers and salt shakers). The sitting spaces in the lobby were comfortable, the continental breakfast was fine (though sitting room for breakfast a bit odd). They take one night reservations on a Saturday in the summer, so if you want to get to Wellfleet it's not terrible. That said, we had a very small room and luckily found the fan in the closet. If you go expecting AC and beautiful quaint accommodations, you definitely need to pay more in that part of the world. For $150 for a night, we did OK and knew that it wasn't going to be a charming treasure. The Cape in the summer is amazing and sometimes the trade-offs are just worth it.

This is a sweet little inn with a lovely innkeeper but the accommodations were very basic. We got a simple room (small) with a double bed and it was clean and comfortable. But the inn was lacking in detail or any hint of refinement. The window stayed open with the help of a notched stick. The bathroom had no shelf to really put anything and it was very difficult to find an outlet to charge a phone (inside closet). The lamps were not convenient to the bed. The walls were paper thin, but fortunately the people who were going to take the room next door didn't like their bed and decided to ask for a different room. The lobby is lovely and everyone at the desk was delightful. I think the price level raised our expectations. We enjoyed our weekend visit as amenities are not the most important thing to us. There were international visitors and this is an excellent location for someone visiting from abroad.

Room Tip: No particular advice on this.
