We went here knowing it was full of tour buses and a tourist favorite. And ... we loved it! The wait was long - we ran an errand while we were waiting. But, it was extremely kid friendly so our little girls didn't stand out or bother anyone. The food was really good. I would go here again and recommend it to anyone stopping through.

You can expect wait times all the time. The food is good and daily specials are a good choice. I had a maine lobster dinner for $20 which is hard to beat. They don't give you much to go with the meal though, so you have to buy extras

As a former resident of Titusville and regular of Dixie Crossroads under the original owners, I know this restaurant and what it was in it's heyday. It's a shame that such a simple concept--perfectly cooked seafood--was lost in the sale of this establishment.

After ordering my standard--2 dozen rock shrimp broiled--I was stunned when my order was tossed at me (literally--a dining companion had his thrown at him, hitting his very large glass of water which went everywhere, including our salads which had been delivered only moments before) within five minutes of ordering. I had a combination of boiled and broiled rock shrimp (very different flavors), some cold and some hot and not at all what I ordered. All the fake melted butter in the world couldn't disguise this mess.

The original owners also used to make shrimp bisque--really wonderful. That is now gone to be replaced by a passable clam chowder. It's okay, it doesn't knock your socks off.

As for the service, no one likes their meal thrown at them, even if it's an effort by the waiter to deliver. It's not as if this joint is hopping like it used to be with lines out the door. It used to be that a Friday night at 6:30, it was an easy hour to hour and a half wait for a table. The Friday night we were there, there wasn't a soul waiting when we went in, and no one waiting when we went out.

It's really a shame, Dixie Crossroads was a perfect example of simple, well done food at one time. That time has sadly passed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns on your visit to Dixie Crossroads. We take great care to ensure that important matters such as these are properly managed, so on this occasion an acceptable standard has not been met and we have clearly not succeeded in meeting your expectations.

While it is true that the restaurant did have a change in ownership, the original family is still part of the ownership and very much involved in daily operations.

We apologize for the inconveniences you stated about your service. The service you received is not the standards we expect from our servers. Did you ask to speak to a manager while you were there? Our managers can often take care of problems while you are still in the restaurant if they are aware.

We would appreciate knowing who the server was so we can speak with them and do the necessary retraining to prevent any further incidents. If you remember their name or can tell us the date, approximate time and where you were sitting, that would be very helpful to us. You can email our Sales Director, Dawna Thorstad at sales@DixieCrossroads.com or call her at 321-268-3101.

The original shrimp soup you refer to was taken off the menu due to the many complaints we received. We now make a variety of soups in house and change them out regularly. The Clam Chowder is a favorite of our guests so we have it available all the time.

You mention the long waits on Friday nights; sadly the economy in our area was hit exceptionally hard with the massive layoffs that occurred due to the closing of the Space Shuttle program. While other restaurants that have been here for over 20 years have closed in the last several years, we are fortunate that people recognize our quality of food and continue to patronize our restaurant.

We appreciate any help you can give us to help improve our service and we would love the opportunity to serve you again - the right way.

Sincerely,
The Management Team

Our first time here and we enjoyed the Maine Lobster Dinner, 6 coconut & 6 bacon wrapped shrimp entrees. The mixed veggies were wonderful. The evening we went it was extremely crowded and it took a long time to place and receive our order. They helped with the wait by providing an endless supply of sugared donut holes. The wait staff was wonderful and the manager stopped by to chat. We are planning to go back as we are locals now.

Dixie Crossroads has been one of our favorites since we first discovered it on our honeymoon 12 years ago. However, I have to say that 2 of our last 3 visits have been a little disappointing. Two years ago our server was really bad, last year was pretty good, and this year the food was only average. Used to be everything was great, but it seems to have slipped a bit recently. Still a good place to visit for the atmosphere.
