A small group of locals gathered at 6:30am to watch the Space Shuttle Orbitor "Discovery" fly out for the final time mounted atop a 747 plane. The view from Space View Park is as good as it gets since it's directly across the river from the VAB and shuttle landing strip. Good parking, restrooms, riverfront and unobstructed views. Monuments are interesting reading while waiting. Lots of tears this morning. Good-bye Discovery.
