“Halal lamb BBQ”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2012

The restaurant provides halal lamb bbq options. I tried lamb boti and it was served with chatni, rice, daal, vege and salad. I wish they had halal chicken as well.

“We loved buffet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2012 via mobile

We were here one afternoon. Food was great. We loved the atmosphere. Parking can be difficult to find. It's little pricy but it's in middle of downtown so. I would go again.

“The stuffed naan is truly spectacular, friendly staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2012

For Indian buffets, this one is the best value. There is a definite gradient in costs by distance from the convention center, but Gourmet India is only a few steps further than Monsoon. I came here by myself and was torn between ordering the peshawari naan and getting the buffet to be able to sample more than one dish. Since the buffet comes with a fresh-made plain naan, the waitress told me I could order the special naan and she would only charge me the $1 difference in price. The peshawari naan was fabulous - a little sweet (raisins), a little nutty (cashews) and with that yummy melted paneer stuffing. The buffet was acceptable, not too salty, but only the aloo mattar potato curry had any capsaicin in it, which made it my favorite. The tandouri chicken was naturally colored (not bright red!), and very tender. The chicken tikka masala was pretty good, but the chicken curry was a bit tough. On the plus side, the buffet was only $10.95 (plus the $1 to have the truly fabulous stuffed naan). Other places I walked past charged $15, $13 and $13.95. I wish I had ordered something unique off the regular menu, though, even if I could not finish it by myself. The Indian lady who I assume was an owner told me that they always make the naan fresh even for the buffet so it would not get soggy. This place is definitely worth coming to for the bread, as others have raved about their garlic naan. Would recommend ordering off lunch or dinner menu, though, so you can specify the level of heat, and to try some of their regional specialties that are unique.
