We had dinner here with friends and ended up staying for the show. This is a themed restaurant with a turn of the century San Diego "Stingaree" (Red Light District) theme. The hostesses are appropriately costumed and the name--Marble Room--is named after the money exchange system used to avoid law enforcement. Customers "purchased" marbles instead of girls, in case there was an investigation. At one time, this evidently was a working establishment.
Service as friendly and quick for both drinks and dinner but the real surprise came as the curtains around the tables were pushed back and the band began to play. The Missy Andersen Band was excellent with a combination of soul and blues. Keyboard, drums, a spectacular blues guitarist named Heine Andersen (who is Missy's husband from Denmark) and Missy herself on vocals really did a great job. During the band's break, a turn of the century strip tease (who was pretty good!) took the stage.
Our party had a nice dinner, really good music and a fun evening.
