“Conference of the Century”
Reviewed May 2, 2014

We held our annual state conference at the Bahia Resort Hotel at the end of April 2014. We started with a goal of 250 attendees but enjoyed a total of more than 450 people. Julie and Rebecca were so accommodating and didn't flinch when we requested more and more of them. They were quick to offer solutions and when all was said and done, everyone (even our conference planning committee) had an exceptional time! From unloading our supplies and equipment, to setting tables around our working parties, to passing people in the hallways, every single employee smiled, greeted us, and made us feel special. I would recommend the Bahia to anyone and everyone looking for a fabulous place to hold a conference, a wedding, or just a nice place to get away.

Green Features: This hotel is very environmentally friendly. There's a recycle trash can in every room along with a list of items that are recyclable.

We stayed for three nights in a deluxe studio. The accommodation was perfect in so much as there was a separate bedroom and a sofa bed in the main room which my son, who lives in California, was able to use for the one night he stayed with us. The in-room facilities were also fine as was the view. The rooms were clean and well maintained. However, we felt the hotel was rather characterless and very impersonal. Check in was at 4pm and we were there just after this but had to wait till 16:45 to get into our room. Not the sort of service we have been used to on our three week trip. It should also be worth noting that the rooms are not particularly sound-proof and if you are staying on a Saturday evening you need to be aware that there may be parties of college students next door to you. Although we were not kept awake, they were very loud and noisy for about two hours in the evening.

The Bahia were welcoming and friendly despite our 1am check in.
Rooms are very spacious, clean, with a small kitchenette. The resort is beautiful with it's own private beach on Mission Bay. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked lovely.
The only issue we had was that the water for the building had been switched off for maintenance the night of our arrival and we had not been notified of this on check-in. Because of this, maintenance then proceeded to walk straight into our room at 3am, without realising it was occupied.
On notifying the manager of this, they were very apologetic and really, no harm was caused other than a middle of the night wake up!
We had a great stay and would return.

Location, location, location! We (2 adults, 7 year old and 5 year old) stayed here for 6 nights in April and had a lovely time! It is close to the main San Diego attractions and a short walk to the beach. Although it is not a brand new resort, the rooms were clean, grounds immaculate and private beaches well kept! The children loved the resident seal and her pool as well as the private beach. The pool and hot tub were enjoyed and also well kept and clean. The biggest pros for us: the proximity to the beach and attractions and the service. I cannot say enough about the service while we were here. Every employee that we encountered was polite, helpful and friendly. The supervisor of the gift shop/boutique, Michael I think his name was, went above and beyond several times and made many of our daily adventures more enjoyable because of his knowledge and helpfulness! From maps to dinner recommendations to help with navigating the zoo, he was a wealth of knowledge and extremely helpful! We are already looking forward to coming back next year!

Room Tip: High rooms had a great bay view (on the side facing the ocean) would rather stay in one of the separ...

I have stayed at the Bahia multiple times, and have an up coming business convention in September. The rooms have always been clean, the view was magnificent and the service exceptional. I cannot say enough about the staff and facility. Zach Anderson and Julie Deeb have always gone above and beyond in helping not only me but my staff as well, in making all the necessary arrangements for a successful meeting.

Thank you to all at the Bahia.

Room Tip: I highly recommend the Marina Suite with beach access and beautiful view

The location can't be beat, right on Mission Bay. Of course, virtually the only place in all of Southern California with free parking. The rooms have been recently renovated so they are looking great. I could of had a better view...... Next Time!
But most importantly, the entire staff at the Bahia is superb. From front desk to manager, even grounds and service men, everyone is professional, helpful, friendly, and positive. This is the experience I expect from a much higher end facility.
On my recent visit, I stayed for 3 nights for negotiation meetings although stressful the Bahia made it feel like I was on Vacation.
I've been to the Bahia Resort Hotel before and we'll continue to return. I want to support places that go above and beyond providing a lovely experience for their guests. Many thanks.

Room Tip: Bay front room that opens onto the beach for me in September!

I stayed here in January for a business trip. the location was great we were able to take a short walk and access a multitude of restaurants and Shops. The Staff went out of their way to help and they were very polite . The rooms were very nice and clean, and its pretty hard to beat a ocean view room....overall I would highly recommend the Bahia resort. we will be booking again in September.

Room Tip: obviously, a view of the water would be the best choice
