This was about our 6th time to stay at the Bahia. It is located on the bay and a 2 minute walk to the ocean beaches (would be an even faster walk if no traffic light to wait on for crossing the one street inbetween). There is a variety of room types - we prefer a larger unit with kitchen to allow more space for our extended stays. This is a large property that allows views of garden settings or bay views. Large pool, but no additional slides or diving boards. Access to small sandy beach on calm bay. A super location for getting to SeaWorld! Lots of great paved paths available to walk or ride bikes (plenty of items available to rent if you don't bring your own) in the Mission Bay area. Plenty of restaurants and shops available within walking distance. Restaurant and bar both adequate.

Room Tip: Although we asked for a quiet room since we are childless and light sleepers, it wasn't to be...

The view is awsome. The staff is very nice. The facility and all the amenities were fabulous. The location was ideal for us. It is litterly 5 minutes from Sea World and walking distance from the beach at Mission Park. The private beach was very relaxing. My 10 year old loved the boat ride on the Bahia Belle. His favorite was the seal pool and everyday we were there to visit Gracie and Billy. The Bahia Resort Hotel was very nice and I would certainly reccomend stay here to anyone who will be visiting the San Diego area. My family and I are already planning our next trip to stay here.

While negotiating an agreement for a large group conference in 2014, we were given a thorough tour of the the Bahia Resort facilities by Rebecca Baumwirt, Director of Sales. Rebecca was aware of the goals of our professional organization and had insightful suggestions on how the resort could assist us towards a productive and fun conference, while remaining within our budget limitations. In finalizing details of our agreement, the Bahia has been supportive and accommodating. If Rebecca and her staff are illustrative of the professionalism and friendliness of the Bahia organization, then it should be smooth sailing as we prepare for our event.

We love this hotel. The kids love watching Sea Worlds fireworks from the room. The rooms are quite, clean and updated. It's on the water and there are a ton of activities close by. The pool area and restaurant is wonderful too.

This was the first time I stayed at the Bahia. We arrived and checked in and was informed that our room had been upgraded. It was an awesome room with a bay view. Room was clean. For an older San Diego hotel I think this was a great place. Location is so close to Mission and Pacific Beach. With perfect weather we enjoyed walking.

Just spent a week in San Diego, the last week of May, and stayed at the Bahia. I was very happy with this hotel. The property was very clean, and very child friendly, and an absolutely awesome location. it is very close to Sea World, the hotel has a private beach on mission bay, but the beach on the pacific is walking distance as is Belmont Park, the boardwalk, etc...plus there is a bus stop right outside the hotel. The pool and restaurants were good, as well the staff were friendly and helpful. the only knock I could really put on this property is that it is a bit older, but that is not a hidden fact and in my opininion is easily offset by the room sizes, awesome location, and the value.

Family members from 4 states met in San Diego for a Reunion in June 2013. We selected the Bahia Hotel because of the great location, amenities, and the adult and child friendly atmosphere. The rooms were older, but had a patio, grass, palm trees and the sandy beach right outside each room. The Café food was good and reasonably priced. We rented kayaks and paddle boards 2 days and everyone had fun paddling them around the Bay. We enjoyed the pool & Jacuzzi; and the gym and video arcade areas. The staff was very pleasant, and we received great info and bought great discount tickets for the S.D. Zoo in the lobby. The housekeeping staff kept our rooms in great shape, and even did the dishes! The children's activities person remembered our children's names the day after their poolside activity. The kids were thrilled! We all had a fun complementary ride on one of the 2 Sternwheeler boats one night. The Pacific Ocean and Belmont Amusement Park are a short walk from the hotel. The Bahia website, and the "800" phone line reservations personnel are wonderful too.
