We were hungry but not famished. We walked through Gaslamp and read menus and were startled at entrees in the $40.00 + range. None was truly White TableCloth or Michelin *ed.

Finally we spotted a trio of restaurants clustered in a strip.....CHIANTI hit the spot. Italian and I was ready to eat WHEAT which I basically have eliminated from my diet.

I was thrilled when they brought my seafood tagliatelle. At first bite I was won over as itwas so delicious as I hadn't had one this good since we ate at Trattoria del Arte in NYC. Albear really enjoyed his Lasagne.emaine

Both of us were so sated that we had to Boggie~Doggie (that's an Italian term) our remainders.
We were so happy we did since, we ate it for dinner because ROOM SERVICE at THE W in SAN DIEGO was OVERCOOKED and DISGUSTING.....They refunded our money. WE ALSO MOVED TO A BETTER HOTEL.

We had a dessert that we loved too.

Albear really liked it so we will go back when we visit this winter.

Great Food, Friendly, well-trained staff, very pleqasant ambiance!

Had dinner @ Chianti in Gaslamp was envited in by a beautiful Latino hostess and could not refuse the invitation. This resturant was on my list for a 10 working trip to San Diego. My dinner was NY Strip special infused with olive oil and garlic and was out of this world. Friends had Surf and turf and a seafood in bolonaise sauce all were happy. The apps and ceasar salad was very good as well. Great service from a nice Russian girl who spoke with an Italian accent. I will go back for sure as the dinner was fantastic!!

Excellent , Vegtables that taste like they were just picked. Halibut like is swam in right before we ordered. The soup of the day was w/ 3 kinds of fish, grouper, salmon , ?? Tomatoe base, no cream but was really creamy , fresh and would ordered it again.
The bread is fresh. Boccaccio D Oro out of this world, the pasta was fresh and had a great flavor.

Reasonably priced. Large portions. 2 people could split 1 dish easy, including the Halibut dish very lg fish portion.

2 entrees 1 bowl of soup = $60
Excellent value for the high quality. They take great pride in what they serve, it's served w/ love.

Reminds me of the French resturants in Toulouse, France. Enjoy!
