Lovely small neighborhood restaurant away from downtown.
Can eat indoors or out.
Small but good menu.
Moules & frites are the main attractions. Other choices too for the nonseafoodies.
Lots of great appetizers (big) and salads too.
Mussels were terrific and the fries even better.
If you like moules & frites this is the place.
Nice attentive service.
And profiteroles!

friends told me that i should check out Bleu Boheme for french food and that they have really good mussels. I came here for their happy hour last week and I thought all their mussels were happy hour price, instead only the mussels with garlic and cream broth was the only one in the happy hour menu.

From the happy hour menu we ordered that mussels, croquette, escargot, and a rum smoked salmon carpaccio. I really wanted to try the mussels in saffron broth, so I ordered that anyway from their regular menu.

The croquette was really good, inside the potatoes it has little bits of smoked hams; the croquette was super crispy on the outside and it was not oily. An order comes with two croquettes and they are drizzled in bearnaise sauce.

the carpaccio had really nice cuts of rum smoked salmon (generous portion too) and on top of the salmon it had shaved fennels, baby arugula salad with capers and lemon zest tossed in this champagne vinaigrette -- it was really refreshing!

the escargot was just okay. I've had better and this one did not come in shells; it was already de-shelled escargot; drenched in this garlic and herb butter.

the mussels with roasted garlic cream and white wine sauce was tasty. each mussels were plump; however the taste of this broth was not as strong as the saffron. The saffron one was just so fragrant and flavorful. I wish the saffron broth was in the happy hour menu. Actually i wish they put all the mussels back in the happy hour menu so i can taste everything!

Happy hour is definitely a good deal; and you can totally get full from it. Can't wait to visit Bleu Boheme again and try other items from the menu.

We had a very nice meal during our San Diego visit. My wife had the lamb chops and I had the Boeuf Bourguignon, and both were excellent. A very nice spot for a great meal!

Wow... Blue Boheme in the Kensington area of San Diego is unique and wonderful. Excellent French cuisine in a suburb of San Diego. We went for dinner and enjoyed cocktails with our pate dish which included both duck and pork pates each prepared differently. We ordered both a pork and beef filet prepared in a typical French manner with excellent sauces and fried shallots.

If you are in need of an excellent French prepared meal when you are in San Diego make a point to visit Bleu Boheme.
