Description: Jsix is a neighborhood restaurant and bar located in San Diego's East Village. Here, one can celebrate the simple things in life: a hard day's work and a good meal served alongside warm hospitality. Food that pays respect to culinary ingenuity but is stripped of unnecessary complexities is served alongside cocktails that exemplify the tradition and history of the craft. Those looking for a rooftop bar can head up to Upper East for some savory seasonal bites and craft cocktails poolside. Welcome to Jsix, where one is always a friend, never a stranger.

Having previously had a torturous culinary experience in the Gaslamp District, our expectations were astonishingly low when we entered Jsix. Thankfully we were very wrong!
The restaurant is awesome! (So good we tried to book again for the evening but it was fully booked - a true testament to the food and service.)
We stopped by for lunch and had the express special. A mixed green salad, burger and gelato for me. Each and every course was delightful. The burger was cooked to perfection, the salad, clean, fresh and crisp and the hazelnut gelato - simply amazing. All of that for $15... seriously.
Not only was the food astonishingly good, but the ambience was wonderful. Tasteful decor, lovely atmosphere and real place settings. Not only that, but our server Amanda was brilliant.
She not only restored our faith in downtown eateries but she made our afternoon that bit better.
A wonderful restaurant and brilliant food. I only wish we could have dined there again.Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Highlights of breakfast here include great coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and attentive waitstaff. Prices are typical for location, with tip, breakfast for two cost $38. Good food( and all organic, according to one waiter)supports the price.

I had breakfast, lunch and evening apps here (different days). The servers were terrific, especially Amanda. The food was excellent and a very good value! Look for the special offerings.

Stayed at the Solamar and didn't feel like wandering the streets of San Diego looking for a breakfast place. The service was good and the food tasty and plentiful.

I would definitely return for dinner as the food was interesting and tastefully prepared, there is an emphasis on healthy gourmet food. I do agree with some reviews that there can be one ingredient that doesn't quite work, mine was the grapefruit slices with the planked salmon, it just didn't seem to mesh with the rest of the dish. But I welcome creativity. We liked the duck endive salad as well as the varied wine list and the risotto was perfectly creamy. Next time, I would try the Chef's Mercy menu but will need to work up an appetite first.
