We stayed here for three nights, the first two while I was at a conference at the hotel. It's right next to the airport, yet it definitely has a San Diego feel with a harbor just adjacent.

Our room was on the lanai wing, a short trek from the main building. The room was spacious and clean and had a nice view of the harbor and pool from the ground floor. There was an odd sewage smell when the bathroom fan was on at the same time as the faucet. The shower was ok... Kind of weak water pressure. Also the shower amenities (shampoo, soap. Etc.) were minimal in size and quality-- ok though.

We liked the on site Starbucks. Also, the concierge was great, recommending nice restaurants and hiring a rental car from one day.TravCar was great... They pick you up and take you to there office right at the end of Little Italy.

The gym and pools are great.

The location of this place is its best asset... Easy to get to the beaches, right by the airport, and a $10-$15 cab ride to Gas Lamp, Little Italy, or Balboa Park.

The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina is about 2 minutes from the San Diego International Airport and my expectation was that this would be much like an airport hotel. To my surprise, this hotel is ideally situated close to the airport, close to Downtown San Diego, and right on the Marina. The meeting rooms, sleeping rooms and overall service levels at this hotel were fantastic for a very reaonable price. Also, the food in banquets, the restaurant and the pub were very good as well. If you are seeking value and convenience, it is hard to beat this location.

Room Tip: This hotel is located just about 2-4 minutes from the airport and Little Italy and about 5 minutes f...

This Sheraton is convenient to the airport and right on the marina with a fantastic view! The rooms are clean, comfortable and well designed, some with balconies that have two chairs and a small table. Great place to sit in the sun and also to enjoy the sunset! The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The outdoor pool is clean and multi-shaped and very shallow - good for kids. There is an exercise room, hot tub, paved walkways and a couple of gas fire pits that run at night. Really a wonderful place to stay and priced very well.

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the marina, facing west.

We spent two nights from nov 2-4 at this hotel. The overall property is lovely and the two pools in two locations were excellent. Make sure you get the Marina towers, as there are two locations to this property and one is down the harbor from the main one. Also make sure you get a floor higher then 6th for views and less noise. We arrived very early thinking we would get a better room, wrong. This hotel does not upgrade free and self parking is $22 dollars a day. They charge $10 per hour if you want a late check out. There are two restaurants on the property. One is high end and the other is a sports bar which had very good food.It would have been nice to have food available to purchase at the pool sites . The hotel rooms are very very small., and very soft pillowtop beds which for me are not comfortable. Might check on the upgraded rooms which may be larger. we did have a balcony but it was room for one person. and being on the 6th floor it was very noisy from the airport. It has a nautical theme throughout the complex and rooms which was nice. There is a Starbucks on site also which was great . I used Priceline again and was disappointed this time. they always get an upgraded room in 4 star hotels which they did not this time. On the whole though this is one of our favorite hotels now. Being on Harbor Island is close to downtown and shelter island restaurants.

Room Tip: choose 8th floor or above, and upgraded room which you will pay more for.choose Marina main hotel to...

I had a great convention visit to the Sheraton in San Diego. The room was easily accessible with a great view of the Bay. I especially enjoyed the options for dining from the formal dining room to the great buffet breakfast we enjoyed each morning. It was nice to have the option to be GREEN, and a free shuttle service was a real bonus!

Stayed 5 days there. Great food in both main restaurants. Close to major attractions. Staff friendly and very helpful with travel advice. I still think that having to pay for parking is not acceptable, if you are staying there. Their green programme is good. We had breakfast included with our room. It was good but never changed all the while we were there.

Room Tip: Try to choose a room over looking the harbour, as the air traffic can be noisy, if you leave your pa...

I enjoyed my stay at The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. Even though I had called ahead and they were booked up, I arrived and somehow a room was available. I was there for a conference and only had one day but had a wonderful experience.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
San Diego has established itself as a destination featuring world class spirit with genuine warmth. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina offers an authentic San Diego experience. Iconic sunsets and a waterfront destination…it’s comfortably upscale without pretense. As an architectural cornerstone positioned at the point of entry into the city - by air or sea - the imposing facade of the hotel reflects an architectural design inspired by the region’s naval influence. In the mid 1800s, city leaders realized the potential of the San Diego Bay and, with the anticipation of the opening of the Panama Canal, the importance of improving the harbor for commerce. Significant modifications were needed to the Bay to accommodate large ships. As a result, Harbor and Shelter Island were developed, as well as much of the land beneath the San Diego International airport. Today’s San Diego has evolved into a place to meet and share inspiration. Overlooking the scenic San Diego Bay and a private marina, the hotel is a place where San Diego soul and contemporary style go hand and hand. A Bayside resort with urban accessibility, the hotel is a waterfront hub connecting you to the destination’s renowned attractions. Ideally located within easy reach, the historic Liberty Station, the waterfront districts of Point Loma, the energy of Little Italy and the Gaslamp Quarter offer convenient, lively dining and entertainment venues. Amongst exquisite lifestyle decor and a relaxing atmosphere, the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina reflects a perfect haven for the active lifestyle that is woven deep into the region’s DNA. There are waterside fire pits and three pools - each with a unique personality. But most importantly, the hotel is designed to make best use of San Diego’s average 72 degree year-round sunny weather. Sitting on the dock of the Bay, the hotel offers access to water sport rentals and sailing tours to provide an extraordinary perspective of San Diego. Along with the diversity that found home in San Diego, the intense energy that the destination acquired offers a remarkably unique experience. Naturally, this energy worked its way into the foundation of the hotel. From the moment of arrival, the hotel is designed to offer a scenic environment with unmatched flexibility and capability. The nautically inspired guest rooms and suites come with an elegant array of amenities and social enabling conveniences. Social travelers seeking something astonishing can choose one of the spacious and well equipped suites for a unique and luxurious home away from home. Reflecting the needs of the world’s social traveler, a great hotel is built with much more than awe-inspiring design. The Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina enlists a warm, friendly and tenured staff that is connected to the urban energy of downtown San Diego. ... more   less
