Show lessFriendly and helpful front desk staff. Reasonable rates. Too far from San Diego Convention center and shuttle was not convenient since you have to walk to catch it and transfer to another shuttle to get to Convention center. Walked a lot of miles during my stay. Would have been awesome to have a hotel shuttle to Convention center.
Thank you very much for staying with us at Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center. The transportation options will vary depending on the size of the convention, but we have never heard of having to transfer. There is a new free shuttle service in downtown that would have taken you "door to door" between our property and the Convention Center, in addition to many other downtown destinations including USS Midway, Little Italy, Petco Park, Gaslamp Quarter, Seaport Village, and much more.
Thanks for your kind words for our staff. We look forward to serving you again soon.
Great place, right off the freeway. Clean, affordable. The manager waived our parking fees and gave us free waters. We walked to the Gaslamp District, the zoo (Balboa Park), the pier (where the Midway Museum is). They are all about a mile away or less. The only downside was breakfast, not much variety. But it was all you can eat...
Thanks for staying with us at the Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay, and found our location convenient for your itinerary. Our hard working staff looks forward to serving you again the next time you visit San Diego.
one of the staff in reception didn't give a good impression. he was just like an grumpy old man
Thank you very much for staying with us. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the level of service you received. Obviously, it is our goal to provide every guest with outstanding service. Rest assured that this matter will be brought to the attention of our entire staff in hopes that it never happens again.
Once again, thank you very much for staying with us here at the Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center.
Location is the best part about this hotel. It's within walking distance from International Airport (it's an hour walk, but still), bus and trolley station, as well as Balboa Park with its 17 museums.
Service- and comfort-wise it's very fair. It's exactly what it promises to be. Rooms are well-equipped and appliances are functioning, bed-sheets are changed rigorously, breakfast is average carb-pumped kind, that is usually offered in "inns", although it's still not bad. Receptionists are nice -- you don't bother them, they don't bother you.
I can imagine, how it can be noisy, taken the location on account, but for me personally that's never been a deal-breaker, and during the time of our visit it was actually surprisingly quiet.
One should also keep in mind, that they freeze the whole sum of your payment on the day of your supposed arrival, then unfreeze it fully after you actually arrive. Again, that wasn't a problem for us, just something worth remembering.
Overall: it was a very pleasant stay.
Thank you for staying with us at Days Inn San Diego/Downtown/Convention Center! While we are indeed "close" to the airport, Balboa Park, Gaslamp Quarter, etc, you must be in phenomenal shape to be walking everywhere! There is a convenient free downtown shuttle which will take you anywhere in the downtown area. Just ask for details at the front desk. Thanks for pointing out our friendly staff, as well as the free breakfast.
We hope to see you again soon!
