The staff was excellent and the room was what one would expect for the Hilton brand. It met my expectations. I will be happy to stay in a Doubletree or other Hilton hotel again in the future, where in California or any other location.

We arrived at 1 am with several groups of Airline Fight staff. There were 2 hotel Front Desk staff. I was a totally confusing expereince. They seemed more interested in getting us our "cookies" than getting us into our rooms. We also ended up with a handicap room and we have HH. We were too exhausted to ask to change rooms. The restaurant and dayshift Front Desk staff were great.

The gas was off and we were understanding we had to go to a friends hotel across town for a few hours after we checked in. We got back and hot water was still off. We asked for robes and never received them. The next morning when checking out we asked the front desk for Burrito's since we had seen a sign the night before. The man at the Front desk was older and seemed to have been a manager said that we could order but we needed to go to the restaurant. I pointed out that the sign said we could order from the front desk 24hrs and he continued saying for us to go to the restaurant but did acknowledge that the burritos were sold at the desk. We walked over to the restaurant and told them that the front desk sent us and the waitress told us to wait while she was going to check the front desk to see if they had some. I told her that the FD sent us to her. she walked away and never came back. We ended up being late to our business meeting at the Convention center. And we didn't receive our cookies. We had such a terrible first experience at the double tree it was heartbreaking. we understood that the staff had to deal with numerous issues but that does not mean for them to ignore our requests.

Came here for a work-related seminar/conference and the room rate was reasonable, the room was clean, bed was big and comfortable... Walked down to the harbor at night and found myself in Little Italy before heading back to the hotel. The location was great if you're willing/able to walk around and explore.

I stayed in a suite. Spacious, clean and really comfortable bed. Had everything that I needed for business. Only one restaurant on site which was fine with me since there are many fine restaurants within walking distance.

We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights. On the plus side, the reception desk was extremely pleasant and let us check in early. It was one of the nicest check-in experiences we have ever received, so kudos to the front desk staff. The chocolate chip cookies are always a nice touch. The neighborhood is kind of interesting and seems fairly residential (apartment buildings mixed with older houses) and a few commercial establishments. There was some sort of outdoor foodie event a few blocks from the hotel the day we were there. There are not a lot of restaurants within close walking distance, though. Little Italy is a longish walk away.

Negatives, besides the fire alarm that woke us up in the middle of the night, include the hotel's restaurant, which is pretty slapdash, and the fact that they did not pick up our room service breakfast order hanging on the door, even though we left it there before 9:00 the night before. They did give us a small discount, and got it there soon after we called the next morning, but that was a first for us. Also, the drive to the garage parking is between very narrow walls and if you had a bigger car than we did, you might have trouble navigating.

I'd stay there again, but it definitely isn't my first choice.
