We brought our family to stay for 4 nights. The two bedroom suite is great for families. Decent view of the surf / lots of room / good beds / extra queen sofa bed / and a barely adequate kitchen (could use a better fridge). We also had a room with a king size bed. If you stay during holidays such as Spring Break be prepared for noise from the restaurants and clubs across the lane and on Grand. Lots of noise. Rooms facing Grand Avenue can be noisy until 1:00 AM. The more expensive rooms facing the ocean do not have this concern. The rooms are quite pricey but you have the most marvelous location on the beach. There is a nice pool and spa. They are just completing a number of renovations and upgrading. Lots of excellent restaurants within walking distance. We will be returning again. It is privately owned and there are NO deals to be had - you agree to the price quoted or find another hotel.

We love the beach, My wife and I have stayed here as many as 6 times a year and have had our 2 kids with us before and after marriage with their spouses. It is the ideal place on the beach for view, culture, nightlife, and beach walking. They are just finishing a remodel that is a nice update. You can`t beat the view and food from Kono`s to Joes Crab Shack. The Firehouse right next door is newer and very nice w/ excellent food. Whether family, romance, friend etc the place is perfect.

Found the staff friendly and helpful. Location is great if you want to be near it all and are not shy a walking. Once you park in their underground garage (charge imposed) you can walk to most anything you may need. Full Ocean view room w/balcony was clean and functional. The view is fantastic. The boardwalk below is very busy with all sorts of peeps during the day. Our stay was everything we expected and maybe a bit more.

Not happy with the noise and street people in front of the hotel. Management rude and not very helpful. While I appreciate the location on the boardwalk is charming, having the people camped in front of the hotel just did not justify the price. Look at other hotels down the way, I found several others without the problems, and management seemed much more friendly.

We came to San Diego for an athletic competion. I booked our room 3 weeks in advance with the hotel itself. Not at any time did the clerk that took the reservation point out, that on the weekend we were to stay, was a yearly festival on the boardwalk and a soundstage with live music direclty next to the hotel. We arrrived on Friday the halls had a funny smell the couch in the room was disgusting and you had to put a towel over it ,in order to sit. The room had a great view however you could not go outside on to the balcony on saturday due to the blarring music and noise from the boardwalk. After the music stopped the clean up and breakdown of the tents began. The doors and draperies were closed and the noise was still unbearable. After being in a competion all of saturday with a second day to follow we needed to sleep which was impossible. The people at the front desk were nice the Assistant Manager has an attitude.I will never stay in this hotel again or recommend it to anyone.
