“Great views!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 5, 2014

We got a 26th floor room with a view out over the harbor. The lobby was gorgeous. The staff was very friendly. You could walk to Petco Park, the Convention Center, the Midway, Seaport Village, and a bunch of restaurants nearby. We could see the fireworks at Sea World every night from ~9:45-10 which was a treat for my son. Watching the Navy aircraft and ships was great too when we were in our room.
There were a few little annoyances, the room was dusty, as some other reviewers have noticed. The parking was a real pain! The garage has mostly compact car spaces, but not everyone has a compact car and just parks wherever they can. If you try to park after 6, good luck finding a space in the garage!
All in all it was a very nice hotel, and the view as I said, was phenomenal! We would definitely stay here again if we come back to San Diego.

Room Tip: Pick a premium room with harbor views.

Thank you for your view. We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed our hotels close proximity to many of San Diego's attractions. We do apologize for the dust you found and we will be sharing your room experience with housekeeping to ensure that all rooms are thoroughly cleaned and nothing is overlooked. As for the parking garage. It is on our property but it is owned by another company but we would be happy to share your thoughts with them as well. Unfortunately, many parking lots in California are mainly compact spaces.

Thank you again for your review. We hope to welcome you back to beautiful San Diego again soon.

This was a very pristine hotel with a grand lobby and lovely rooms. Very nice pool area that overlooks the waterfront and great views from the room. Check-in was quick and convenient and amenities were accommodating for my business stay.

A return trip to the Grand Manchester Hyatt in San Diego did not disappoint. Great service, great atmosphere. I was there for an association convention. The hotel was let down only slightly by showers not tall high enough for me at 6ft 3.

Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed our hotel during your convention. It is interesting to hear about the showers not being tall enough and this will be brought under consideration so thank you for pointing this out – we are always looking for ways to improve. Top notch hotel! I was here for 6 nights to attend a convention held in the hotel. Spectacular experience! Beautiful, elegant, comfortable hotel. Unreal views of the harbor. Conference facility was first class. I'm a 5-star-hotel kinda gal, and this was a great stay.

I stayed at this restaurant during a conference. It was excellent! I loved the bed and the linens and slept well every evening. The view is great and it's an easy walk to lots of attractions and eateries. I would not hesitate to stay here again and to recommend it to others.

I had to book a conference at the last second and could not get something with the rest of my group, and thank God for that. The Manchester Grand Hyatt was much nicer than the Four Points Sheraton downtown, although that is understandable given the price difference. My room had a beautiful view on the Ocean. It was clean, nicely designed and decorated and quite comfortable, It was also extremely quiet. It was an end unit so I only had one room next to me. I really enjoyed my stay there. The breakfasts were very good (not as elaborate as the standard German luxury hotel breakfast, but quite good, nonetheless). Proximity to the Gaslamp distrist means shopping, restaurants, cafes and convenience stores are a few steps away. I would certainly consider staying there again in the future.

Room Tip: Emphasize that you want a view on the Ocean and that you would like an end unit, away from the swimm...

I attended a Nat'l Conference there from June 29 through July 3, and it was a lovely place! In addition to the hotel itself being beautiful, the staff was very attentive and helpful.

When my roommate and I checked in, we were supposed to have a room with 2 queen beds and wheelchair access that has a roll-in type shower. However, the room we were told they had for us had a king sized bed and a shower for a disabled person. We told the front desk agent, Caroline, that we needed the 2 queen beds. She was very pleasant, said it would take a little while to get one ready, and she asked what else we might need to make our stay a great one. Since my roommate and I had to attend a meeting right away, she said for us not to worry. She said she would have our luggage sent up to the room when it was ready and would text each of us to let us know when we could stop by the front desk to pick up the key. Indeed, she called us about 45 minutes later, and when we picked up the keys, the room was a corner one on the 14th floor. It was very spacious, beautiful, and it had lovely views.

The following evening the electrical plug of my roommate's scooter was frayed, and when she tried to plug it into the wall to recharge it, she got shocked. She called Maintenance, and they sent a very nice technician named Dan to see if he could fix the problem. He actually replaced the plug on her scooter (which had nothing to do with the hotel), and he didn't charge her for it. As he left, he said, "Please let us know if there's anything else we can do to make your stay a great one".

We paid a slight premium for our room to have access to the Concierge level on the 33rd floor of the Harbor Tower, and it was terrific!! They had a great selection of cold serials, yogurt, lots of fruit, and one or two hot items plus they had this wonderful coffee machine that made a great latte and cappuccino.

When we went to the concierge level yesterday morning to get something for breakfast before heading to the airport, the young man checking us in, Anthony, said he could check us out instead of having to wait in line downstairs at the lobby level. That was a huge time-saver for me, and Anthony was very helpful in reviewing the invoice to make sure he split the room bill accurately between my roommate and me.

Normally I wouldn't write this long of a review, but the 3 individuals who I noted, Caroline, Dan, and Anthony, all were very attentive and provided excellent customer service. I told my husband when I got home that I look forward to another time when he and I can stay there just for fun!
