Stayed for three nights at Howard Johnson Hotel Circle South, the room was clean and the location was good. BUT, the breakfast was a joke. They had a plastic case with muffins and pastries sitting out in the open where everyone can touch them and move them around and nothing sanitary. The toast was plaine white or wheat, no begals and again, loaves of bread that everyone handles. They had three containers of cereal, raisin bran, corn flakes and fruitloops that you turned a wheel and the screw type cylinder crushed your cereal into your bowl.

When you go to a hotel, you figure that at least the local channels would be clear, it is 2013 after all. But no, all the channels were snowy and there was no guide to figure out where any channel was. The room was good size, actually the set up was strange, the bathroom sink was BEHIND the door to the toilet and shower. The bed was as hard as a rock and the pillows were so soft that I had to use all three from the king size bed to even support my head. I know it is an economic hotel, but come on.

Oh did I mention that this hotel DOES NOT OFFER WASH CLOTHS, they will give you extra hand towls. WHAT????

The driveway is hard to get into as it is on a hill with large trees actually covering the sign until you are almost right in front of the hotel. I will definitely stay anywhere else besides this hotel when back in San Diego

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, ask for a room away from the elevator, right on major highway on Rte. 8, with lots of traffic noise all night.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple times and for the price it's pretty much the best in the area. Now understand that this isn't any fancy place, but if you're looking for a good value I would highly recommend this place. The continental breakfast is exactly what you would expect with baked goods, a few cereals, and juice/coffee/tea. The rooms I've stayed in have always been clean and the staff was pleasant. My only complain is that the internet was extremely slow on the few occasions I was able to connect.
