“Great little coffee and sandwich shop”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

Breakfast at the nearby Doubletree was a bust, so I walked a block and found this Italian-themed coffee shop. Each morning the cheerful staff greeted me with ciao and a big smile. My latte was excellent as was the strawberry croissant. Organic options were available.

“Gelato!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Perfect on a hot sunny San Diego day! Delicious! Oh and the panino and coffee are spectacular too. Service is pleasing and prices fair.

“Delicious gelato”
Reviewed September 4, 2012

I have been to a couple gelato places in San Diego and I really like this one (on 5th in Hillcrest, not State Street). We ordered up our cold desserts and hot drinks, took them to the outdoor seating, and sat for a while taking in a gorgeous Hillcrest night. The street is metropolitan without being downtown. The outdoor seating is enough for 3-4 small parties, and inside is more room. The gelato is delicious, handmade, and of the top quality. I haven't eaten anything else there yet. On comfortable nights, I highly recommend slowing down for an hour, grabbing a small gelato and coffee, and just enjoying a break from life.

“Best Gelato in San Diego!”
Reviewed September 3, 2012

I have not eaten the food here, but I have had their gelato several times. The many flavors will make your mouth sing for joy! Very intense fruit flavors and the more traditional flavors are very rich and delicious. My favorite is the Stracciatella which is vanilla flavored with dark chocolate drizzled on top...which is delicious. It seems like it would be made out of heavy cream but they told us it is make out of skim milk. The staff is very helpful especially in giving samples.

“Tasty”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Loved the manicotti, but what a large serving! Felt it was enough for four people. Many neat pictures surrounding the area which we enjoyed viewing. Manhattans were good and made as requested!
