“Comfortable rooms and they try to treat you right.”

Rooms are clean and Beds are soft and firm. Free breakfast with cooks to order your own style eggs. Evening has a 2 hour managers special (free drinks). Pool, hot tub weight room available. Business room with free access to computer and printing. Traffic to San Diego can be very heavy at times. A shopping Mall right across the street. Parking was $19 a night which was I thought a little too much.

We've stayed here several times and always like it. Typical Embassy Suites rooms. Love the breakfast and happy hour. We especially like being able to walk across the street to the UTC outdoor mall. Great place for all of us to shop. 10 minute drive to the beach. Near 2 major highways so easy access to downtown San Diego. Safe neighborhood to walk around. Just right for a family trip.
No need to pay expensive daily parking in narrow garage. Plenty of free on street.

We stayed 2 nights in a two room suite. The room was a good size, clean, comfy bed. The hotel has a cool koi pond/waterfalls in the lobby which were nice. As was the free happy hour and breakfast. The hotel wasn't full while we were there, so there were never long lines for food or a lack of tables. Yes the parking fee kinda stinks, but we figured we got our money back by not having to buy breakfast for two days, and with the free drinks at happy hour.

The hotel is right off the highway and only minutes from La Jolla. There is a mall across the street which came in handy since we had a suitcase break and were leaving from San Diego for a cruise. I would stay at this hotel again.

Up to the standard I would expect from Embassy Suites except overnight car parking is rather expensive at $19. The hotel was clearly popular at the weekend, with the infamous breakfast queues if you get your timing wrong and turn up just before breakfast is scheduled to finish. On week days, I didn't have to queue to get a freshly cooked early breakfast but queues built up around the end of breakfast session, when there is an alternative of self-service scrambled egg, bacon and sausage as well as the usual selection of cereals, cakes and bread and muffins for toasting. My room, or rather my suite, was lavishly spacious. The hotel is just across the road from a low rise shopping centre but it was necessary to drive some distance to get to the beach. The hotel bar & restaurant was pleasantly informal and relaxing and well used compared to the typical sparsely used formal restaurant one might expect in that class of hotel.

My husband and I stayed here while we were on the second part of our honeymoon. It was perfect! The "romance package" was a nice touch. As like all other Embassy Suites, there was a beautiful atrium, complimentary breakfast served every morning, and complimentary beverages (and snacks) served each evening. The breakfast and evening reception are two of my favorite things about this hotel chain.

Altogether I have stayed in various Embassy suites from California to Florida on many occasions. Our recent stay in Lajolla CA just north of San Diego was another positive experience. We initially picked this hotel chain because of the fact all their rooms are suites and we have a large family .Mom and Dad and 4 boys.If we stayed most other places we would need 2 rooms. Also the cooked breakfast is always excellent and the free coctails in the evening is also a nice touch. With 4 boys the breakfast alone saves us at least $50 a day. Also these hotels are very clean and have very good facilities with a wonderful ambiance that matches their location.Their rates are competitve and flexible, dont take the first price they offer. They have recently started charging for parking so be aware of that but it is available to park on the street in some of their locations.

Typical Embassy Suites, in a good way. We really enjoyed our stay there, and would definitely stay again. The rooms and staff were nice, the hotel was nice with a big, beautiful koi pond in the lobby that the kids liked, the free internet in the business center was helpful, the breakfast was good with an excellent selection (hint: don't be late, they close it down right on time), and the location was great - 20 min or less to all major attractions, including the beach. Lots of restaurants and a nice mall close by with a playground for small children. The few negatives are: the sofa bed was awful - it was ridiculously uncomfortable. The mattress felt like springs with a sheet on top. Every spring was sticking out. They really need to replace them. I had a relative staying in another room, and her sofa bed was the same way, so it wasn't just our room. Also, other Embassy Suites I've stayed in had a nice kitchenette. This just had a very small area behind the door - the fridge didn't get very cold, and there was no freezer, which was disappointing. Still, it was nice to have the sink, fridge and microwave, however, small. The pool is nice for adults (even has a sauna) but definitely not a place for kids to play, so if your family expects to hang out in the pool, this is not the place. It's indoors, and is just a small rectangle pool with no shallow area for kids to play, not even large steps to hang out on. Also, the hotel rooms could really use a shelf or two in the bathroom. If you have more than one person, there's nowhere to put toiletries, etc. other than on the sink. If they just stuck a shelf on the wall, it would really help create more storage space. Lastly, they could really use a little noise buffer from the lobby, like more plants. All the rooms surround the lobby, and even though we were high up on the Honors floor, the noise still drifted up when there was happy hour or a band playing. We were prepared for the parking cost, we just considered it part of the overall cost of the hotel, however, it's very inconvenient - three stories with no elevator and only one lane in the garage - two cars can't pass eachother, one needs to back out for the other to get by. The front desk had conveniently printed directions to every surrounding location, which was very helpful. The hotel was comfortable overall and relatively quiet, with helpful staff and was in a good location, so we enjoyed ourselves very much, and would stay there again.
