Dirty!!!!

1.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Jul 23, 2019via mobile
Note to all - don’t settle for dirty hotel rooms. These are our feet after walking in our hotel room and my 12 month old crawling for like 10 mins. Sooo gross!! We spoke to a person at the front desk and they offered some great solutions (free night, new room or leave at no charge). We checked out another room - rubbed a white towel on the carpet and it was equally as dirty. In the end we took a free night (night we had stayed) and spent the next 2 nights at a cute (cheaper and cleaner) Airbnb. So note to Best Western Mission Bay - clean your carpets! We have traveled all over world and never had dirty feet like this from a hotel room.

We had two rooms, the first room was okay the second room was very humid, even with the air running. There was an odor of pee near the sink/closet. Was a little disappointed with the appearance of the hotel (nothing like the picture on the website). Supposed to be dog friendly, but there was no place to take the dog potty. The breakfast was okay, nothing special and the eggs tasted like powdered eggs.

The pillows were comfy, the room was big. It was clean and they had good breakfast. The only thing is that their flush has too strong pressure when flushing that it was frightening. It’s as if we were also getting sucked. Other than that, the hotel was fine.

Where do I begin? The room wreaked of a urine odor. Despite purchasing Febreze spray and room deodorizer, we could not eliminate odor. There is a large sign warning that cancer causing material is present in the hotel structure. The fire alarm sounded 3 times out of a 5 day stay. The pool is very small and the hotel is extremely noisy with no interior corridors. Don’t stay here- find another hotel in the San Diego.

We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay. The state of California requires all businesses to place a warning sticker when using chemicals that may or may not cause cancer. The chemicals we use at our hotel are environmentally friendly. Unfortunately during your stay an unknown person pulled the fire alarm has a prank.

Employees were very nice. However, this was a very old and worn down BW hotel. Room was very clean but the decor was very old. Looked like an old Motel 6. Was not told the ice machine was right outside my room. Not worth the $201 per night. Only stay here if other hotels are booked.

We were disappointed with this hotel as we had booke thinking it was nearer La Jolla than it was. When we found it we had only booked two nights so decided to stay. It was out on a limb and next to a builders storage yard, no nice views. Our Room was on ground floor right behind the reception so very dark. As we were touring around in the day we did not bother to change room.It was the usual odd room for USA Best Westerns where the Wash Basin is in an alcove in the room, do not understand why they do this. Rooms are normal large size with two Queen beds
Breakfast was a buffet in seperate room it was ok but not a lot to choose from very basic.

It is at least a 15 minute drive into La Jolla and Beaches, could be longer with traffic.
You are however just off the Freeway, so can get to Downtown easily.

The pool area is small so if half the residents tried to use it it would be jam packed.

The TV did not work and they did knock $25.00 off the bill.
The reception staff were good especially the young lady. However they are not very clued up for where to eat.
