We only stayed 2 nights but service was excellent. They got us in early. No problem with the road noise, really couldn't hear it. Only problem we encountered was a ice machine that wasn't working. Breakfast was great.

We stayed here our first night after arriving in San Diego. We were assured that it would be a quiet, restful night due to the double-paned windows, even though we were given a room which faced the freeway.

The room's carpet was filthy. The freeway was loud. And the a/c stopped working in the middle of the night. Not a restful start to the trip.

However, the breakfast in the morning was nice (nothing special), though crowded.

I'd find a different hotel next time.

I was traveling to San Diego on business, but took the familiy along. This Comfort Inn is pretty nice; generally what one would expect in a Comfort Inn. The room was clean, new furnishings, bathroom, comfortable beds, nice Continental breakfast. In general, a pretty nice place, for a good price.

Now the negatives: The room was a bit small, however. The hotel overlooks a freeway, and 60 percent of the rooms face the freeway, so there is a bit of noise throughout the night, and the walls were a bit thin so we could hear our neighbors (especially footsteps from above).

Location is not in the immediate adjacency of anything, but within a 10 minute drive, there is the airport, Old Town, Downtown, Balboa Park, and Sea World. There's a bunch of local restaurants just down the street...which is nice, especially because these are all local run places, and not the big chains. I did walk to the Trolley, which made it convenient.

Going in I knew the location was near the highway. Yes, you hear the muffled noise from the cars going pass your window. It did not bother me at all. The loud air conditioner is more of a distraction. Overall the stay was a great deal. Very close to Old town, which I wanted. Yummy, filling breakfast to start our day off for exploring. Comfortable beds, nice clean rooms.

nobody told us that the two bed rooms faced the freeway, actully just feet away ! I couldn't sleep at all. our air conditioner quit one night, but was repaired the next day. Our toilet Broke one day,but was repaired later that day. On 5/30 the fire alarms went off and water was pouring out of one of the rooms and up the hallway, the fire dept. came but no one from the hotel was around to give instructions, we got a discount , whoopie, 50% for that day. The front desk staff seemed like they didn't care much. The shuttle drivers were pretty cool. and housekeeping did a good job. BUT I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN , I WOULD RATHER SLEEP IN MY CAR!!!!!!

My now fiancé and I went to San Diego for a day at Sea World and what ended up being our engagement night. The room was really nice, I must say, and I was impressed (at first). The room we had was spacious with a king sized bed and beautiful bathroom. We went to Sea World, stopped for dinner and went back to the hotel. We ran a beautiful bath and it was perfect- until he started proposing. The ceiling began to leak on us!!! We tried to ignore it, but it soon began to be like rainfall over the jacuzzi tub and in the door way of the bathroom! We contacted the front desk who told us they had another room for us in the other building, so in the middle of the night, we had to pack up our things while being rained on and move. The front desk person was not very nice about it either. It was a mess. I was crying the whole night and the next day. The suite they moved us to had a balcony which had spider webs (I HATE SPIDERS!!!) and sunflower seed shells all over it. It was disgusting but the story made for a memorable engagement (not in a good way). I would definitely NOT stay here again. The room was nice but the area isn't. I would rather pay more money and stay in a nicer area.

We stayed at this Comfort Inn to attend a graduation at the Marine Depot. It was very convienent and only took maybe 5 minutes to get to the depot. We had a clean and decent size room. it was on the freeway side, but we didn't even hear the traffic noise. The planes taking off was actually nice to listen to, but didn't keep us awake at all. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They had two shuttles running but the biggest issue was the amount of people that were staying there to attend the graduation. Everyone used the shuttles which took awhile to get to the front of the line. As close as it is, they stop you at the gate to check everyones ID's and then to proceed to the dropoff point. They will also check private vehicles, but not the hotel shuttles. So it was running maybe 20 min. between pickups. Only major problem is not enough parking and it is close , but its free. We didn't try the free buffet, but looked very good. Wish it would've been alittle less expensive for the area, but being clean and friendly staff, would stay again.
