I travel to SD for business every other month of so...
I've stayed in Mission Valley but really prefer the location of old town. To rebute some things I read in other reviews, this location is NOT is a BAD AREA ( there is a law school down the street and multi-million dollar homes up the street) but it isn't surrounded by much else other than some businesses and apartments. Old Town is a two to three minute drive at most, and you can be at a Walgreen's, various, resturants or the gaslamp in under 10 minutes....
I have now stayed on both sides of the hotel ( freeway and street). Personally the street id quieter/prettier but the freeway to me was a non-isse becuase they do have Double plated windows to muffle the sound ( no vibrations by the way)..The rooms are spacious enough and overall I like the privacy of the hotel..but the staff is nice and if you extend your stay is likely to give you a very good rate...
The only problem I had the last stay is that a bottle of red wine given to me as a gift dissappeared ( I swear I didn't drink it! ) but management had me go to their "deli" and pic any wine bottle I wanted (good choices..I picked something comparable)..
morning brekfast is so-so but this plce is nice...Oh andthe Internet/computer options rock
