“Continued excellent service in a vibrant location”

After staying here in February, we booked this property for a bicycle group in mid May. During a very busy check in with most of our riders arriving within a 25 minute span, the staff was able to accommodate everyone in a pleasant and professional manner. Our room was fine with plenty of room for bicycles as well as gear. We will stay here again

The staff at the Blue Sea lodge were so great! They were considerate, accommodating and kind. They took care of our every need, especially Cesar. The location is amazing! Beach front with walking distance to beachside restaurants, quick stops for food, awesome bars and beach shops. Loved every minute of my bachelorette weekend in San Diego at this Best Western.

Stay here for 3 days. after staying at great BWP(pismo beach)on our way down the coast we found this very average.
Pros: Location is amazing & loved the beach views plus plenty of cafes near by. Secure parking underneath (although $18 per day) & free Wifi a bonus.
Cons:Plastic cups only (wine glasses/glasses not available or spoons or forks we asked at reception), rooms very dated & a very uncomfortable bed/pillows)A Chair had cigarette burn in one & bed covers had stains. Lots of kids running around great if your a family...
Was originally booked paying over $300 per night after adding another night hotel matched price I found online for $200. Would have no been happy if paid $300 per night.
Great for families as rooms look abit knocked around but as a couple looking for a romantic get away you might want to look elsewhere...

Room Tip: Ask for beach front

The location of this hotel can't be beat. It's right on the water with plenty of restaurants and stores within walking distance. All of the rooms have a great view of the ocean, but if you are lucky enough to get an ocean front room or suite, you are in for an unforgettable experience. Sitting on the balcony right on the sand/boardwalk is just amazing. I have stayed here many times for business and for pleasure and the staff has always been fantastic. My kids also love this hotel because they can swim in the ocean, the pool or the hot tub. Sea World, Belmont Park and many other attractions are very close if you feel the need to take a break from the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel and have made a trip to PB our annual family vacation. We won't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Ocean-front room or suite is the way to go

This was my first time in San Diego, and we had stayed in a budget hotel in a different location the night before. But after coming to this hotel, we saw a really cool side of San Diego right from our hotel balcony and wished we could have stayed longer. We also rode the bikes the hotel rents out, as early as 7 a.m. the entire boardwalk which goes with less expensive in Mission Beach to more expensive as you go further along Pacific Beach. This hotel was right in the middle of the boardwalk where you could see all the surfers and skateboarders and just a jovial atmosphere in general. I felt the rooms were very nice and had everything you needed. I have even talked a coworker into going to San Diego this year for his vacation and staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: Getting a partial ocean view even with the parking lot next door gives you more of the happenings of...

My Husband, Son and myself stayed at the Blue Sea Lodge for our second year in a row at the end of May and again, it has met and exceeded every expectation we have!! We were in room 106 which was beyond close to the beach as far as view was concerned and the room itself was roomy and super-clean! The staff is amazing to deal with and everyone is beyond helpful! Everything is accesible from the Blue Sea, we can park our car and walk everywhere from the hotel including the grocery store. Absolutely convenient!! This will be our "home away from home" spot every year and we can't wait for our next visit!!

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Overall, we really enjoyed it. The good things - location is awesome. We walked the whole beachfront walk and decided we prefer the south side of the pier and the hotel is just in a perfect place. Close to restaurants, stores, etc. the hotel is older, but well kept. The rooms were clean and nice. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived early and they gave us an access card for the restroom and the pool, and let us park in their lot. The debate able cons - it is a family hotel so there were a lot of kids. We did not go in the hot tub for that reason. There were always little kids in there and I feel they just can't help peeing in there. The pool was nice, though. One night only, thank goodness, there were some super loud and obnoxious college kids making noise until 2:30 a.m. The only con - you have to pay parking which is 18 bucks a day, so be prepared for that. It sucks but it is understandable that they have to charge, but that amount seems excessive. Overall, I recommend this hotel if you want to stay on Pacific Beach. I would stay here again for sure.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view room, or pool view because they see the ocean, too!
