I stayed with my husband and 4 year old daughter at the end of August. Rooms were clean, we had a fridge and a flatscreen tv in our room, plus an ocean view. Lots of towels, and comfortable beds. The only issues we had was the a/c wasn't working the best and the sliding screen door on our balcony was broken, pretty minor things. There are good restaurants within walking distance also and a the pool is awesome, you can swim in the pool and watch the ocean at the same time. We would stay again for sure!

Room Tip: We stayed on the north side but still had a corner view of the beach, it was awesome and little chea...

We have challenges when we travel due to my husband's disability. He is unable to stand at all and needs special accommodations ( roll in shower). Your front desk rep, Michele Taylor was outstanding in making sure we had the room we needed. I did not worry at all about our needs being met. She made herself very accessible during our stay as well and made us feel at home. She was a great representative of your hotel as well as an awesome business woman!!!

After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor, and having very nice experiences with Best Westerns in general, we booked our 4 night stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and our oceanfront room offered the nicest view available – exactly what we were after. If you enjoy sitting on the balcony watching the ocean and the surfers, this works. Great location for restaurants and attractions.

However, the room was tiny (barely able to fit the bed and a small table), the carpeting always felt damp and dirty and the halls reminded me of a bad Daytona Beach hotel. This hotel needs some major renovations, and I could not recommend this to a friend. The room was horribly overpriced – plus no free breakfast and no free parking. In Pismo Beach, CA or Cocoa Beach, FL the rooms are twice as nice and half the cost – with the same distance to the beach and view of the ocean. We were very disappointed in this hotel - mostly for the cost versus the ammenties. When you spend the money for the ocean front room, we wanted to enjoy spending time in it - at least we did enjoy the small balcony.

I would also recommend NOT getting an ocean front room (and paying the extra cost) if you are hoping for quiet sound of waves all night long – the beach traffic and party atmosphere lasted well after 2am on the weekends.

Hotel fronts straight onto Pacific Beach as does the pool area which is the hotels main plus point. Disappointing that there was no complementary breakfast as most Best Westerns in the states seem to offer this. Customer service average.

My husband and I stayed here in the beginning of August 2012 and had an awesome time. We had an ocen View room in the North Tower and it was wonderful..We could sit on our balcony at night and watch the sunset. We would even talk to some of the tourist who passed by. Most people asking how we liked the Best Western. The room was clean and location was excellent.

Room Tip: Choose an ocean view room in either the North or South Tower.

Nice location right on Pacific Beach but all those good reviews must have come from people who did not have a room on Pacific Beach Drive.

There is a restaurant right across the street with lots of traffic and people outside talking and yelling well into the night. Then at 4:30-5AM the delivery trucks for the restaurant start to arrive one right after the other. Very NOISY!

If you do stay here make sure to ask for a room that is not on Pacific Beach Drive.

Dear Ranger99,
Thank you for taking the time and posting your comments regarding your recent stay. I apologize that your stay was affected by noise coming from the Pacific Beach Drive side of the hotel. Yes, I would agree with you that there is definitely more traffic and activity on that side of the hotel. There are many of guests who prefer to be on that side of the hotel and we do have a fair share that also request to be away from that side as well. Regardless, we do our very best to accommodate every requests we receive at the Blue Sea Lodge. Your feedback and patronage is greatly appreciated and we look forward to you staying with us again in the near future.
