This hotel is very good. It is in a great location and, for the price, you can't go wrong. The staff were very good and the breakfast was well stocked and tasty. The room was very clean and comfortable but the decor in the corridors was a little dated and depressing. This is only a very minor complaint and I would definitely stay here again. The front desk staff were very helpful and parking was easy - a multi-storey car park adjoins the hotel and was only $14 a night which was much cheaper than other downtown hotels I was looking at. All in all, I was very pleased.

Stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a package tour. Very comfortable and clean. Staff very friendly. Ideally situated for the waterfront and located on the edge of "little Italy" with it's wide selection of bars and restaurants. The fact that the hotel restaurant is reached by a few short steps on the sidewalk is no big deal at all. Overall very pleasant stay. Would visit again.

During our California visit, we stayed 4 nights in this Best Western. Location is ideal, walking distance to everywhere! Breakfast is given in a restaurant next door. Good breakfast with excellent staff and service. Parking is not ideal but acceptable no connection by elevator. You have to walk. We asked and got a bayview room with an extra charge of $10.00. This is a partial view of the bay and in early october no sunon the balcony. We would have prefered the other side (east) at least you have sunshine in the morning. All rooms have balconies. Again location is ideal!

Close to the harbor is the only thing I can say good about the place. It was so noisy that we could not sleep. It was supposed to be a quiet night away from noise of the neighborhood and yet it was worse. The free hot breakfast was mostly cold and rushed. We will not be back.

We choose this hotel for its location not realising the the railway is 1 block away and the hotel is not far off the flight path to San Diego International Airport. These factories created much noise coupled with the fact that noise seemed to travel easily around the building.
The room was fine. To get to the restaurant you need to exit the hotel and walk about 40 metres. Reasonable breakfast included. The hotel had its own car park at a cost odn$14 per night.

Excellent quality for price we paid. Clean and comfortable. Easy walking distance to Little Italy and transportation. We used "trip advisor" for helping select place to stay after cruise. Met several people from same cruise and also those leaving for cruise leaving same afternoon. Surely a convenient and quality stay.

After our recent cruise, we stayed at the Best Western Bayside in San Diego, CA. We were very pleased with the hotel and its location. It is in Little Italy and there are many, many good restaurants close by. Most of the restaurants were Italian, but there were also Greek, Chinese, English Pub, and various other eclectic restaurants.

Our room was not available at check-in, but the staff was very friendly and they stored our luggage until our room was ready.

We had a bay-side king room, number 1201, on the 12th floor. One problem with our room was that it was right next to the elevator. We could hear the elevator going up and down all the time. There was also a strong smell of cigarette smoke in our room. I am not sure where it was coming from, as the floor was supposed to be smoke free.

Our friends also had a king room but not on the bay side. Their room was much larger than ours and on the 14th floor. And they also paid less for their room than we did. ?? I guess we paid extra for the view.

The bed was very, very comfortable with quality bedding. The bath towels were also very nice.

There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where they serve a very nice breakfast, which is included in the price of the room. There was plenty to choose from, as they had scrambled eggs, sausage, ham and homefries. There was a selection of cereal and also muffins, and Danish. They also had yogurt and bread for toast. The juices were apple and orange. Milk, coffee and tea were the other beverages. All in all it was a very nice selection.

The B W Bayside Hotel lounge opens at 4 p.m and there are good Happy Hour prices. The restaurant is not open for lunch but it is for dinner at 5 p.m.

There is a free shuttle pick up to and from the cruise port and also to and from the airport. The driver was friendly and helpful with our luggage and worthy of a tip.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting San Diego.

Room Tip: I would have given all 5 stars but for the cigarette smell and the elevator noise. Just be sure you...
