My wife and I had the best experience last week surfing for the first time last week! Christian was an amazing instructor who thoroughly explained the process of surfing. He had various surf boards we were able to use, and the beach location he selected was unbelievable. We felt like it was a private resort. I highly recommend Progressive Surf Academy to anyone living or vacationing in the San Diego area!!

Christian Marcher is not only an excellent surf instructor for beginners, but also helpful to take your surfing to the next level if you already have some experience. He has experience working with people of all skill levels and is great at tailoring your experience to what you need. I have sent multiple friends and colleagues to Christian and all have come back with rave reviews.

My colleague convinced me to join her for a surfing lesson, because her fantastic former instructor had started Progressive Surf Academy nearby and he was available on our free afternoon. What a great decision! I was up on my second attempt and caught nearly all of the waves I tried for. Christian broke surfing down into easy motions, helped me bring out the board and get me set up to ride, and sent me off with a smile. He was helpful, patient and encouraging throughout the two-hour lesson. I'd recommend him to anyone, any skill level. Thanks so much for a great afternoon!

First of all, I'm foreigner, so review could be little strange.
I`ve experienced the most useful 2 hours in my life. I had a lot of lessons in different fields be4, but that one was the most saturated, with plenty information about how to surf, how waves behave and how to choose right spot, how to progress, how to choose right gear, how to stay safe for yourself and arrounders, and even some cool stories from his life.
Even with my poor english, Christian explanation was clear and teachable.
Go for it, and eventually start to surf

I can’t emphasize enough what an incredible instructor/coach Christian Marcher is! I first took lessons with Christian in Hawaii and I knew he recently moved to San Diego and started Progressive Surf Academy. So when I found out I was heading to San Diego for a conference I immediately contacted Christian for a session. I convinced my colleagues to join me. They’ve never surfed before. They were up on the board on their second try! They loved it. We had such a wonderful experience and I can honestly say it was because of Christian’s customized instruction and enthusiasm to teach/coach. When I was in the water my adrenaline was going and Christian calmed me down and I surfed way better. He recommended effective techniques and tips that I never knew of before. If you live or are visiting So. Cal and always wanted to try surfing or want to improve your surfing I HIGHLY recommend Progressive Surf Academy for lessons. Bottom line: Christian makes surfing fun and that’s what it’s all about. Thanks Christian!
