Description: Modern American cuisine, a pet-friendly outdoor patio, and an incredible ambiance have made this Mission Hills restaurant a favorite spot where locals from the Banker's Hill, Hillcrest, and North Park neighborhoods come to dine, relax and enjoy a craft cocktail or local beers. Join us on Mondays for All Day Happy Hour, and Bottomless Mimosas at weekend Brunch. The casual chic vibe starts with living-plant walls, a cozy fireplace, a lively bar area complete with a glass-enclosed cheese cave! Ideal for a romantic date night or Happy Hour with friends, The Patio is a popular event space, too. Locally sourced and sustainable food goes into our chef-inspired menu dishes. Ahi Poke Tacos and Whole Fish are among San Diego's best seafood dishes. New York Steak and our delicious flatbreads draw raves. Make a reservation, drop in or take out. Friendly service is part of our welcoming atmosphere, where you can watch the game on TV or connect to free WiFi. There's bike parking, too.

This restaurant is great for a date night. It is lovely inside, but they will always try to give you a seat that is not as nice. Also, the staff is just fair. They always seem in a hurry and it appears they do not really care about you. BUT, the food is quite good and they have an interesting menu. If you want bread, you have to pay. I do not like that. It is excellent heated bread. If you desire a very nice atmosphere and good food, you will truly enjoy The Patio for lunch or dinner. Valet parking available or self parking on the street within two blocks or so.

Food is good, service very good. Needed help with ingredients because of allergy issue. Chef was wonderful in advising us. We had burgers and french dip. Both very good. However, because it is a large open area it can get very noisy. Also it can get cold. Just be advised.
Parking can be an issue in the neighborhood

The title says it pretty well. Servers are great, cinnamon buns out of this world, but the rest is pretty humdrum. Nice ambiance. We do the patio bacon and eggs, and they are fine. The accompanying bun resembles a Parker house bun, not great to absorb the eggs.
I really like the place but somehow the food( one of us has a different meal) just doesn’t rise above. Sorry.

We chose the Patio for a birthday breakfast. Our server was very accommodating, switched the omelette to a scramble even though she said the kitchen didn’t like to do this. When they arrived they were made with the ingredients of yesterday’s omelette- mushrooms rather than bell pepper. The key problem however were the orders of eggs Benedict which came with hard cooked eggs rather than soft and the potatoes were awful- very over cooked.

This eatery is beautiful appointed with interesting architecture, open spaces and beautiful features such as a greenery wall in the back section. It is open air and inviting. The menu is mainly American fare and service is good. Desserts are decadent. Sadly the music is quite loud creating a disconnect from the atmosphere presented while walking by. It appears it would be a great date night spot but the 70/80s loud music could squash the atmosphere. Best left to a happy hour stop.
