Went to Fred's on Garnet because we were too tired to search out other options. The décor was cute and the service excellent. Loved the chips and salsa bar, the happy hour margaritas, the fish tacos and the guacamole (these chips were hot and seasoned and appeared to have been fried). For our sides - not sure what type of beans they used, but they were whole and nicely flavored. The rice was probably the best I've had in a Mexican restaurant. I think it was cooked with cilantro which I happen to like. Definitely not the typical blah refried beans and flavorless red rice.
I also ordered a pork taco and thought the smoky, almost barbecue flavor did not hit a Mexican note, but my husband loved it.
Service was helpful with ordering, incredibly fast and fun.
