Description: Casa de Reyes offers awarding winning, world-class Mexican comfort food! Located within Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, you’ll enjoy traditional Mexican dining in a lush garden courtyard. There’s also free live entertainment, strolling mariachis, folklórico dancing, year-round events, and more! Casa de Reyes is located on the site of an adobe home built in 1823, one of the first adobe homes in San Diego. Our restaurant is named in honor of one of the home’s first owners, Doña Maria de los Reyes Ybañez de Dominguez. Doña Maria made her small, humble adobe a comfortable and welcoming home for friends and guests, and so do we.

We have been to this restaurant several times and are always happy with the service and food.

The main disadvantage is it's popularity (hence a long wait for a table).

All the tables are outside which is a great advantage in the summer.

This restaurant is located in the square of the historic town. The seating is mostly outdoors and provides a plaza type of dining experience. The menu has a wide variety of different dishes, the service is very good, and the meals we tried were extremely good and reasonably priced.

A bowl of warm pozole soup by a crackling fire pit with live Mexican music playing nearby made for a delightful December evening in Old Town San Diego. The atmosphere seemed like we had stepped back in time to old California days of the 1800s.
The pozole soup had tender chunks of chicken in a green broth with pozole & radishes, garnished with sliced cabbage. It was unique and delicious. Unlike anywhere else I have eaten. The night time atmosphere was so inviting with the live music, the flags flying off a nearby veranda, and the friendly staff. The night was cool, so I was reluctant to sit outdoors, but the sheltered seating, the gas fire pits & lamps made it quite comfortable.
The cost was quite reasonable as we dined for $20.

This lovely restaurant in the heart of Old Town is a fun place to dine but the food isn't exceptional. Pleasant wait staff, entertainment and a lot of energy. The chile relleno was bland but the carnitas were very flavorful. A wide selection of margaritas.

We learned that you don't need to go to Mexico to experience delicious Mexican food! This little village was so pleasant to walk through! There are plenty of little shops to visit, places to eat, and historical icons. But the Casa De Reyes restaurant was wonderful! The food choices were ample, and delicious. Prices were very reasonable.
