“Great Location - fantastic room”
Reviewed July 28, 2009

We recently stayed at the Homewood Suites Liberty Station while attending Comic Con from July 21 to July 26, 2009. The location is fabulous - very near the waterfront and near restaurants and grocery stores. Within walking distance (across the parking lot) is Oggi's Pizza where we ate one night. Not great pizza but everything else looked good. Also, in that same area is a Starbucks and a few other businesses. A short driving distance away is Von's and Trader Joe's. Von's is pricey - there is a Ralph's down Rosecrans street about 2 miles that is much more reasonable (off of Sports Arena drive). The room was completely stocked as far as the kitchen went. We bought food and made sandwiches for the Con. The bathroom is tiny but with only 3 of us, that wasn't an issue. We had the one bedroom suite. It is a quiet hotel - we never heard airplanes even though they were flying over all the time. The A/C was great - never uncomfortable and the bedroom had a ceiling fan. The hotel employees were very welcoming and nice too. The breakfast was fine. Not great but good enough. The waffles were the best part as was the free coffee every morning. The buffet also included sausage, oatmeal, cereal, breads, fruit and potatoes. The light dinners I can't comment on because, due to Comic Con going late every night, we missed out on that. We did walk by during Taco night and they looked pretty darn good! This will be our new San Diego hotel from now on!!

Stayed at Homewood Suites Liberty Station for 3 nights, July 13-16, and loved it. We were traveling with teenagers who had just turned 16 & 18, so the two bedroom suite was perfect for us - two bedrooms, two bathrooms, sitting area, kitchen - and 3 flat screen televisions. There was enough room for all of us to be comfortable and also have our privacy. Very good value, great location, very clean, beautiful grounds, friendly staff, lots of (free) parking. Would definitely stay there again if we are in San Diego (which we hope to be!)

Spent a fabulous week in a 2 BR suite in July. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Grounds well kept. Plenty of outdoor seating and several outdoor fireplaces for cool nights. Located near an old naval base that is being rehabbed with plenty of shops and restaraunts. Also next to a beautiful new park right on the bay with lots of walking and bike paths, play areas for small children and soccer fields. Great breakfast served daily and light dinner every Mon-Thur with complimentary beer and wine, all included in the price of the room. A real money saver when traveling with a family. Transportation to and from airport. Also the Trolley comes right to the hotel for tour pick up. Would certainly stay there again!

We returned from six nights at the Homewood Suites and really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very friendly and the dinners and breakfasts were suprisingly tasty. The room was clean with a view of the channel coming off the bay. We look forward to future stays at this hotel.

I spent four days here for some training. I arrived very late and the hotel shuttle was done for the night. They reimbursed me for the cab fare from the airport. The breakfast was great. The hotel store was convenient. I spent a lot of time in the business center with work. Watch out because they re-boot after an hour so don't forget to save your work. We worked in the evenings and the hotel breakfast area and the patio area with their fireplaces outside were comfortable. The complimentary coffee was very nice. I never got a chance to use the pool, but it looked clean and nice.

The hotel staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome. It was nice and open outside and made it nice to take a walk for a break.

The rooms were spacious and well equipped. I enjoyed having the kitchen, wish I had more time to have used it. The separate bedroom made it easy to spread out and relax. Large TV's, a comfy couch, and plenty of space as a whole.

Next time I am in San Diego I will definitely stay here.

We recently returned from a 4 night stay at this property. If you're like me and appreciate a clean facility, this is the place to stay. Upon check in we were given room 168, which unfortunately was a bottom floor room in the south building with a window that faced a wall. They front desk graciously gave us another room in the north building. We were in room 401, corner room with a large window overlooking the pool and the water, with another large window in the bedroom with a view of the fireplace seating area. Very nice. We loved the location and amenties offered as far as stores and restaurants within walking distance. Everything is new. Wonderful walking path. The staff was pleasant and accommodating. The free breakfast was good, although I'm not a fan of the powdered eggs they used for the scrambled eggs. There's a Starbuck's within walking distance, along with a Von's and Trader Joe's to help stock the full size refridgerator in the room. Lovely property, great location. The other reviews pretty well sum up all the benefits of staying at this property. Let's hope they don't raise the prices once everyone finds out about this hotel!

While i've certainly stayed at fancier and more luxurious hotels, i feel like this is the first hotel I've ever stayed at, that's really understood what it means to be hospitable. All employees that i've encountered during my two week stay were warm, welcoming and made me feel at home (especially gary, rachel and duncan). They're genuinely happy to help you and are just super laid back, friendly, and nice. While they really made the hotel special, the warm breakfasts every morning, the week night dinners and the free coffee throughout the day were like the icing on the cake. The rooms are just the right size and very clean, and after a week into our stay, the hotel left little gift bags on our door with slippers in them and a thank you note. I love that attention to detail. Also, in case you're as lazy as i am, i never once had to do dishes..... my housekeeper loaded and ran the dishwasher whenever necessary. Just make sure you leave your housekeeper a nice tip when you leave. They probably work the hardest out of anyone.
Bottom line is i loved staying at the homewood suites at liberty station. I was there for business, but after staying at this hotel it felt like a vacation. We were so spoiled that i honestly didn't want to leave.
