If you haven't had Afghan food don't be afraid to give this a try. I found the Karai to be extremely moist and tender with great flavor. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Badenjan Challaw. The Baklava was huge.

We have lots of Afghan restaurants in Orange County, CA and this defintely does not compare. I took my brother and his friend there for their first Afghan food experience and everyone was disappointed. You can never go wrong with the Quabali Pallow or kabobs at most middle eastern type restaurants, but this place was kind of disappointing. The lamb was really gamey on the kabobs. There were 2 patrons in the restaurant when we arrived at 1pm. We stood in front waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes before a girl came out to seat us. She took our orders and served water. I think she was the only person working in the restaurant at the time. We didn't see a single other person working or customer come in after us. Which probably should have been our first clue this wasn't the best place to go to for lunch. 40 minutes after ordering our food came out. The waitress said the chef didn't have time to make bread so we don't get any today. We didn't know it came with the meal, so we didn't expect it anyways, but it just seemed weird of her to say at the same time. No apology...just that you don't get any bread today. Forty minutes seemed like a long time to get our food out when there were no other patrons eating in the restaurant. The food was ok, nothing special. Probably would recommend something else for the price. It looks like a nice big restaurant inside, very posche...but service and food were blah. I am sure you could probably find better middle eastern food at a mom and pop shop. Nothing to rave or recommend.

Despite ever knowing about this 8-year old place, we had an accidental great meal there. The food was novel and fun to try. The brown basmati rice is a must have as was the Mantu.
Wine was fairly priced and they have a full bar. Owner operated and it showed in a good way.
They were good at explaining the various foods and portions are generous.
Try it!

Read the rave reviews so decided to give it a go....perhaps it was the dish I ordered Ichicken kebab served with rice). The chicken was dry, and hard to cut (obviously not fully cooked), The green cardamom tea was the best part.

Nice decor, warm atmosphere (and family friendly) and interesting menu. We opted for shared platter of appetisers, which was a great way to sample lots! Generous main course servings, with nice flavourings. Overall impression of the food was somewhat similar to Persian/mild Indian food. And if the homemade baklava is available, do not miss it!
