We stayed here at this bed and breakfast for our anniversary, and we were VERY pleased with the accommodations. They had new mattresses, beautiful decorated rooms, adorable patio, great breakfast, extremely plush towels, but best of all, the most welcoming staff I've experienced! Lorraine was the best and made us feel like family. She had lots of recommendations for places to go and eat. She was so sweet, we just enjoyed sitting and talking with her. She really made us feel at home! We highly recommend this place and will return!

Room Tip: We stayed in room D and it had a lovely view out the window of the padio with a painted mural of a scene that looked like you were on a street in Italy. It was great!

If you're looking for a home away from home, look no further. Little Italy Inn isn't a swanky five star hotel with robotic staff and rows of identical rooms, it's a unique and inviting European experience with wonderfully eclectic rooms, fantastically warm staff, and just the right amount of amenities to make you feel welcomed but not overwhelmed. With a recent renovation, the hotel's design invites guests to meet one another, especially during happy hour (free wine, beer, and appetizers) and breakfast (included as well). Our room was cozy and clean, the price was perfect, and the location could not be better - right in the heart of San Diego's Italian quarter, with access to a plethora of restaurants and bars, just a short hop to the famous Gaslamp district. Yes, the hotel is on the airport side of the city, and yes parking is on the street - so what? Noise levels are quiet and we never had a problem finding spots. Can't wait to return!

Room Tip: Stay in room P!

From the beginning I was very impressed with their customer service. Lorraine was very helpful with booking our room over the phone. When we arrived we were able to park right next to the building in the 30 minute parking space and were told we didn't need to move the car until later in the day. Lorraine showed us where free parking was available & we had an easy time gettig parking. When we needed extra time to check out they were very easygoing about allowing us an extra 45 minutes. The breakfast was simple but quite tasty. We enjoyed the banana bread, the croissants and the yogurt and granola. The happy hour also looked really nice but we didn't have the time to stop and enjoy it. The rooms were very nice and clean. The towels were particularly nice and soft. The only complaint I have is that the pillows were very very tall and caused me to get a neck cramp. Also, the hardwood floors created a lot of noise. We could hear people walking and the floors creaking. However, we were right by the highway and didn't hear any street noise. Planes flew overhead periodically but, for the most part, the airplane noise was muffled. Great location. Close to the airport. Right near everything in Little Italy. Lorraine recommended a great cafe just down the street. We walked over to the ferry and the gaslamp district is only a $10 cab ride. Very friendly and nice people working at Little Italy Inn. Overall a great experience.

This is a very comfortable bed and breakfast. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The common hallway offered an attractive seating area for guests. The breakfast in the lobby consisted of juice, coffee or tea, granola, yogurt, and delicious pastries. The staff was most solicitous and helpful creating a "family" atmosphere which seemed to influence interaction among guests who varied in age and points of origin. Despite the proximity to the freeway the rooms and common areas were quiet. My husband and I usually shun "bed and breakfast" accommodations, but this experience changed our perceptions.

We are traveling in America for more then 2.5 weeks now. Through this time we spent our nights in several hotels in Nevada, Utah and California. In all this time we've seen some good places and some who wasn't so good, we have even stayed in some excellent places, but never have we encountered such an amazing, pleasant and caring establishment as Little Italy Inn (LII).
The whole staff in LII, leaded by the wonderful Mitch, was extremely friendly, attentive, professional and pleasant. Add to that the beautiful and clean room, one of the best locations in San Diego (with absolutely fabulous Italian restaurants around), and you really couldn't ask for anything more, just the perfect place.
Writing a review is a rare thing for us to do, but LII was really the best experience you could ask from a hotel, highly recommended!!
We really can't wait to come back again...
