I have stayed at this property for many business trips over the past few years and have never been disappointed. The rooms are comfortable with everything you need and the staff is outstanding. Breakfast and dinner are always good.

Location was perfect for us. Close to shopping, interstate and dining. I was pleasantly surpised by the great customer service provided by Jake, Mike and Brittany. They provided excellent suggestions to dining and events for New Year's Eve. We had an issue with noise the first night(I swear we there were sumo wrestlers doing laps ) from rooms above us, which was resolved by Jake moving us the next day. We were relocated to a (smaller) but quieter room on the floor above us. With that said, I was a bit diasspointed by the replacement room. The furnishings need updating and bugs need controlling. We found a cockroach crawling up our living room wall on the first night in the new room. The couch fabric was stained , the kitchen table chair needed repairs also. The tub needed a good scrub, floor tile and grout could be replaced. Heating and cooling system was extremely loud. The laundry facility was convenient, the pool and hot tub were lovely. For a Hilton property, it lacks freshness that I have come to expect from Hilton locations. With that said I still think we had a very pleasant 8 day stay. The lobby has a great fireplace, breakfast and dinners provide a great value to families.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th floor are ideal.

We have stayed here multiple times over the past few years. It is both a business and family oriented guest hotel.
The location near I-5 is good, and there is also surface street access to Del Mar and Sorrento Mesa for restaurants and shopping and local attractions.
The suites are comfortable and well equipped for cooking, micro-waving, etc but there are also complimentary, excellent daily hot and cold breakfast offerings and, from Monday through Thursday, very filling light dinners. The dining room staff have always been friendly and helpful to us.
There is a heated swimming pool(very comfortable as of our last use 12/31/2012) and jacuzzi with available towels, a nice feature.
The housekeeping staff has always been helpful- any time we have needed extra towels , they arrive quickly. We have never had problems with broken lamps, or unclean rooms.

We stayed 2 nights, the room was fine and the staff we super helpful and friendly. They helped us with finding restaurants, even as far away as Carlsbad. I chose this hotel because it was cheaper than hotels nearer major attractions and it was very easy to get to the zoo and legoland. It had a nice kitchenette, but I'm only rating 4 stars because the breakfast wasnt very allergy friendly for half my family with gluten allergies. I've had better breakfasts but it was ok, and they do have Belgian waffles, my other daughter was very happy with that, so depends on what you need

Chose this location over many for our Christmas holiday and used reward points. One hopes loyalty is truly rewarded with the best in accommodations and service. Not so. The initial room located on the 3rd floor (Our profile indicates a preference for the top level floor in a quiet location.) by the elevator had a broken HVAC system with chipped furniture and base boards. Upon notice and an attempt by staff to fix the HVAC, we were given keys to another much smaller suite but offered no assistance with the move (All three had unpacked.). We were sent a nice note and complimentary movie, but for the many nights we've spent with Hilton we expected a different room location and better quality room upon check-in. The new suite was cozy and quiet until a family with children who like to run in their room and hallways moved in. During our five night stay, we enjoyed many things about the property: the warm fireplace in the lobby, the hospitality of the servers and other workers in the food area during breakfast and the manager's receptions, Jake's customer service at the front desk, the holiday decorations and eggnog and the clean jacuzzi and exercise areas. The location is ideal for those who want to explore areas north of San Diego as well as downtown San Diego. There is a Von's grocery store nearby which we visited since the room contained a stove top, full-sized refrigerator, microwave and appropriate supplies and not many restaurants are nearby or were open on Christmas. A special recognition of the housekeeping staff is in order. We travel extensively and this property's housekeepers and their work was superior to most. So, would we stay here again on a return visit? We had hoped it would be 100 percent affirmative but room placement, etc. at check-in make our reponse less enthusiastic or positive than we would like.

We would first like to thank you for choosing our hotel. We know you have many choices when selecting a hotel, and we're honored that you choose to stay with us. Second, we want to thank you for taking the time to write a review on our property.

We would like to thank you very much for your kind words about your experiences with our food service staff, holiday decorations, treats, and our fireplace. Our team works tirelessly to make every guest feel at home in our lodge whether they're with us for a day or a month. I did notice in your review that you were not entirely satisfied with every aspect of your stay, so I would like to address each of the items you'd mentioned.

I'd like to start with your room move and everything that transpired with regards to it. First and foremost, in doing my research and reviewing the records from your stay it appears that the front desk staff could have done more to ensure that you got exactly the room you were looking for. This is unacceptable, and we are actively working to ensure that all of our team members are going the extra mile, every time for every guest.

In your review, you'd noted that you were not offered any assistance in relocating rooms. Being a select service/extended stay hotel, we make available luggage carts but do not employ a bell staff so it is customary that guests handle their luggage personally. Our team is always happy to help with any guest request that we can, and assisting with a room move is certainly no exception. But just to clarify, it is not a customary service, so assistance typically requires a guest request.

Last but not least, you'd mentioned that another guest and their family weren't necessarily the most considerate neighbors. We realize this can be a real nuisance during an otherwise nice stay, and are committed to helping you address these concerns. If any guest is ever doing something that infringes on your family's enjoyment of our property, we invite you to please contact us at the front desk twenty-four hours a day so that we may expeditiously address your concerns, and ensure that other guests are considerate to one another.

We want to be clear that every guest is deserving of our best efforts to deliver the best service and facilities possible, and as an HHonors member that becomes even more critical for us. Feedback such as yours is critical for us to ensure that every guest receives the highest level of service and accommodation. I would be happy to address with you any additional questions, concerns, or follow-up items you may have, and I invite you to contact me directly anytime. We hope that the aspects of the property you did enjoy, coupled with our committment to improving the other aspects of our hotel, will compel you to stay with us again the next time you visit San Diego. Thank you again for your review, we hope that you and your family had a wonderful holiday season, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
