“Educational experience”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

Wow! What an impressive ship. I don't know much about the Navy or air craft carriers so this was a great education. The ship was full of retired former crew members of the Midway, telling us all about their experiences. The jets onboard were diverse and extensive in their chronology.
Expect to spend 2-3 hours on board.
There's even a sandwich shop on board if you get hungry.

“Nice half day”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

This is a nice half day trip. Our 3 yr old had a great time getting her pilot wings, which helped keep her busy. They have a lot of volunteers on hand to give you information about the carrier and the planes. It was a great visit and would recommend this to anyone visiting San Diego

“If you haven't been, you won't understand”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

Reading the pitiful "terrible" and "poor" ratings for this WWII veteran, I realize that people who have never been in the military just don't get it. Midway is a magnificent museum, and extremely well-staffed and maintained. The sights, sounds, steel decks, ladders (yes, Virginia, there are ladders on Navy ships, not spiral staircases), even the smells, are evocative of what a real fighting ship is all about. Have not visited Hornet in Alameda, or Intrepid in New York, but after serving in three different carriers, I truly enjoyed my time aboard Midway. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but most of the complainers wouldn't mind spending $150 to see Bieber.

“Awesome Ship”
Reviewed January 23, 2014

The wife, sister, sister-in-law of military men, I could not pass this one up and convinced Sam that we had all afternoon for this tour. My husband, our kids and I have visited the BLUE GHOST in Corpus Christi, Tx, many times, and I wanted to see this "newer" model. Discount entrance fees for seniors and former military greatly appreciated, as are the free audio guides which were had so much information while on the tour. Loved the sound effects and the personal stories on the audio guide. We also took the additional (free) tour of the bridge. This is definitely a good educational tour for any age!
