The USS Midway is a sight to behold. It is larger than you expect and grand in it's presence in San Diego Harbor. You enter and pick up your audio device at no extra charge. It is really helpful as you tour the ship and gives interesting details about life aboard. The highlights for us were the bunk areas, showers, mess & flight deck. 2 actual fighter pilots were giving talks and answering questions. There are interesting areas to see such as videos and simulators you can "ride" in. You can actually sit in and walk through cockpits and planes. The experience is best suited for kids age 10 through adults.

The USS Midway museum was much larger than what I thought at first. You can easily spend almost a day in here! I recommend everyone to take the tour where you can walk on the decks bellow the main hangar, to get a glimpse on how life was on this carrier when it was in service. Up on the main deck, several Navy planes are on exhibit, some of which have served on Midway. It is also possible to get a tour on the bridge, bear in mind that this tour is taken with groups of 20 persons, and there might be some waiting.
Overall, this was a very good experience, what could have made it even better is to improve the audio-tour.

This attraction was included in our San Diego pass so we thought we'd take a look around - it was fantastic. It's huge! So much to see and learn - unfortunately, did not have a lot of time to do the whole audio tour. The staff are friendly and informative, happy to answer questions. Would definitely like to take more time to see it again!

I love Military History, so this was right up my alley. Only complaint was people getting in the way of pictures and being rude towards the people trying to explain different parts of the ship. Loved it. A must see.

Disliked:When we got to the location, there was suppose to be free parking, but we arrived around noonish and then the lot was full. Only place we found was across from the ship/ same side of the road, and it was metered and limit of 2 hours... so we had to go back after two hours and put in more coins.. we wasted some valuable time

Liked: The history of the ship and the self-guided tour.. we had 4 hours and yet we didn't see it all. If you want to participate in the talks they give and see all the ship plan on at least 4 hours or more.
