Even being on the Mexican border, San Diego has few excellent Mexican restaurants and even fewer that the whole family can enjoy. Casa Guadalajara fills the bill for any festive occasion. Wait lines can be avoided if you are not particular where you are seated, i.e., out-of-doors on the patio, the dining room or bar area. All are equally interesting. Also arriving before the crowds, such as 11:30 am instead of noon can reduce the wait.
Their menu is extensive and reminiscent of the items at restaurants in Mexico City. They are well-prepared and the large plates are overflowing. Choices range from Enchilladas Suisse to
Baja Fish Tachos. There is something on the menu for everyone's taste. Appetizers and desserts are also tasty, if you can find room. Margaritas are the drink of multiple choices.
On weekends there are usually strolling guitarists singing to the restaurant guests. The décor is wildly bright and truly representative of Mexican artistry. Additionally the restaurant is situated near the Bazaar del Mundo shopping area of Old Town. There's plenty to entertain after a great meal. This is a place the whole family and any guests will love.
