“The city of Coronado”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2014

Tour of the city of Coronado, including the beach, Hotel del Coronado where numerous movies(Cat on Hot Tin Roof, etc) were filmed. The beach is very busy and Navy flight trainees fly over frequently. Lots to see and do here, shops, restuarants, etc. A must see when in San diego area!

“Gets you there”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014 via mobile

Not that special but gets you there for $4.25 per ride. The views to the big bridge and Uss midway are nice. Runs on the hour from navy pier and on the half hour from Coronado. Bikes can be taken without extra charge!

“Great nighttime view!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2014

The view of San Diego from the ferry, returning from Coronado Island, is hard to beat! The cost is also very reasonable: $4.95 one way, or $8:50 round trip. If you think of San Diego as a theme park, the Coronado Ferry is one of the better rides. Sit down and watch the sailboats during the day, the city lights at night. Great views of the Aircraft Carrier Midway. Limited drinks available from a vending machine down on the main deck. It's a bit spartan down on the main deck--better to sit topside and enjoy the expansive views. Bring a hat for during the day, and something to sit on at night (the outside seats get wet). Explore a beach full of wild oysters by the dock. Check out the little shops right off the wharf. Walk across the island to Coronado Beach (about a half-hour walk) through beautiful neighborhoods of mature trees. Watch them build huge sandcastles on Coronado Beach. It makes a great outing. The trip takes about 20 minutes. You can easily spend all day on Coronado Island. :-)

“Lovely”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

Get away from the city but still be in San Diego. Ferry is nice ride, scenic of the city and USS MIdway, hire bike or get the bus to the beach on the other side, we strolled along for a while before we had to stop because it became US Navy only. Beach combing.

“The little ferry..”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 3, 2014

Friendly and pleasurable way to get across to the Coronada side. A few nice eateries and quirky shops and Art galleries... Worth an afternoon, with a nice little beach.
