“Good food, Great service.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2014 via mobile

Great location and great atmosphere. The restaurant was clean and neat, the service friendly and prompt. Oysters were fresh and briney. The menu is a bit overpriced, but this is San Diego. All in all, a good dining experience.

“Good food but pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2014

We went to Lou and Mickey's on August 1st. It was a rather late dinner. Our reservation was for 8:45. We were not seated until 9:15. No worries enjoyed a drink in the bar while waiting. Our waitress was very helpful and polite. Our food was a bit slow getting to us though. I had the BBQ shrimp which was excellent. My husband really enjoyed his swordfish also. Your sides had to be ordered separate and in addition to the meal. That was rather odd though one side was enough for two. We got the giant asparagus and the scalloped potatoes. Both were excellent! We had leftovers to take home so portion sizes were generous. It was pricey, but it is in the gas lamp area and everything is rather high in there. I would go again.

“Fantastic Food”

We were invited there as guests of a group. The food was more than excellent. I have New York Strip and Lobster and it melted in your mouth. You have to try this restaurant.

“Kinda pricey for an okay dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2014

We were walk-ins after a show - arriving for dinner around 9:45pm. Service was very attentive and cordial from Chris. We picked the place based on the claim on the outside of the building of being a seafood restaurant but realized than this may be more of a traditional steakhouse than implied by the signage. The pricing is up there with the high rated steakhouses. We both had nut crusted halibut which was very good. We selected a Pinot Noir from the reasonable wine list. Vegetables are a la carte. What was disappointing was the warm bread rolls, which were hot but undercooked and the asparagus, which was woody - we were surprised they served these. Ambiance was typical traditional steakhouse, wood panelling with booths, and quite well done. With so much competition nearby we may not try this restaurant again unless we especially want to try their steaks.

“Robert the Waiter was fabulous!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

He made some great recommendations. We went with the swordfish and New Orleans shrimp as well as the garlic mashed potatoes and the sweet corn. Everything was absolutely amazing. If you are on a carb-diet, ditch the diet and have the sourdough bread and butter! We had to have our basket filled twice. To top it off we had the cheesecake. OMG it was perfect! I don't like super rich desserts but this one was anything but. It was literally perfect and I could have eaten the whole thing myself in one sitting. We are looking forward to going back and trying something else on the menu.
